'Nancy Drew' returns with Episode 10 and there are more mysteries and hauntings in store
This story contains spoilers for Season 1 Episode 9 of CW's 'Nancy Drew' titled 'The Hidden Staircase'.
After a month-long break, 'Nancy Drew' is returning to The CW. Set in the fictional town of Horseshoe Bay, Maine, the series is a modern reinvention of the popular stories about the teenage sleuth and follows Nancy Drew (Kennedy McMann), George Fan (Leah Lewis), Bess Marvin (Maddison Jaizani), Nick Nickerson (Tunji Kasim) and Ace (Alex Saxon) as they find themselves in the middle of a murder mystery.
Before the show went on its winter break, it had put its main premise — the Tiffany Hudson (Sinead Curry) murder case — in the backseat, putting Nancy at the center of another crime. This time, a deal with the devil and young children kidnappings. While Nancy manages to solve the murders with some help from her father Carson Drew (Scott Wolf), her investigations into Lucy Sable's (Stephanie Van Dyck) murder come back to haunt her.
By now, Nancy had gathered enough circumstantial evidence against her father in the murder case — enough to incriminate him. So when the police get their hands on it, they arrest Carson Drew for Lucy Sable's murder.
But it can't be this easy — there are more suspects with more motives than just the money that Nancy was harping about. A lot of fans are upset that Detective Karen Hart (Alvina August) wrongly arrested Carson. "That was so messed what the cop lady did such invasion of privacy," said a fan. "Dude I wanted to fight Karen! Why would she do that!!!? She invaded Nancy’s property and got Her father arrested SMH," said another.
The CW released a promo for the upcoming episode, but it barely offers any insight into what is in store in Episode 10 titled 'The Mark of the Poisoner's Pearl'. But the one thing we can be sure of is more ghost sightings and more hauntings. There might also be some heartbreak lurking around the corner, and some new love — as actor Tunji had revealed to us in an exclusive chat.
The series was renewed earlier this month and comes barely halfway through the 22-episode run of the first season. So rest assured, the mysteries of the Drew Crew will continue for a while.
'Nancy Drew' airs on Wednesdays at 9 PM ET/PT on The CW.
