Australian crooner Sia is one of the most prominent music figures in the industry who has belted out hits like ‘Chandelier’, ‘Cheap Thrills’, ‘Titanium’ with David Guetta and ‘Diamonds’ with Rihanna. The Grammy Award nominee surely flaunts an impressive CV and adding another feather to her cap, the 44-year-old singer-songwriter is all set to drop her debut feature-length film called ‘Music’.

Sharing the big news on her official Twitter account, she revealed, “The news you've been waiting for! Music, the movie written & directed by Sia + starring Kate Hudson, @leslieodomjr & @maddieziegler, will be arriving in early 2021! Watch a sneak peek of the movie right here.”

Release date

As her tweet confirms, Sia’s ‘Music’ will hit the theatres in early February of 2021, however, she has not spilled the beans on the official release date. We will keep you posted on the same. Interestingly, Sia has also paired a 14-track album inspired by the motion film which will hit the Internet on February 12, 2021.

Plot

The movie focuses on Music, a teenager with special needs who loves music. Her half-sister, who is a newly sober drug dealer becomes her guardian but also struggles with the new responsibility. The two along with their neighbor friend seek on a journey of dreams and life challenges in this coming of age drama. According to IMDb, the film explores two of Sia's favorite themes — finding your voice and what it means to create a family.

The film, described as "a wholly original exploration of the healing power of love and the importance of community," will be held together by Sia's music, which soundtracks "fantastical musical sequences" that paint an alternative world for Music while imagining "a world where those bonds can be strengthened in times of great challenge,” as published by Billboard.

Cast

The lead role Music is played by Sia’s longtime collaborator Maddie Ziegler. This also marks her debut on the big screen.
