'Superman' star Nicholas Hoult will star alongside Daisy Edgar-Jones in renowned screenwriter Tony McNamara's 'Mosquito'. Hulu's latest relationship dramedy is a six-part series that sees two of the UK's top names share screen space. The series provides a fun take on a young couple, Kate and Ed's relationship, after their secrets come to the fore, all started by a mosquito.

McNamara, who also serves as the EP, said, "I’m thrilled and excited to work with and team up two of the best actors around. I can’t wait to go make absurd comedy with them." In lavish praise of McNamara were Disney Television president Eric Schrier and Disney+ head of content for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, Angela Jain.

"Tony is one of the most talented writers working in film and television today, with a legacy of incredible success at Disney," their joint statement read. "He has an unmatched ability to bring fascinating and complex stories to life, weaving sharply written, intricate dialogue with signature dark humor and complexity. Partnering with him on Mosquito is an incredible step forward for our local original content and reinforces our ambitions in the U.K."

The six-episode Hulu original series from the U.K. also sees Hoult and McNamara reunite following their work together on 'The Great' for the streamer. Hoult and Edgar-Jones also serve as executive producers alongside Underwood, Daniel Pipski, and Marian Macgowan.

Hoult comes into the project on the back of what has been a solid 2024. The X-Men star was seen in 'The Order', 'Nosferatu', and as the Man of Steel's archnemesis Lex Luthor in 'Superman'. He will reprise the role again in the sequel to the DC flick, 'Man of Tomorrow', set to release in 2027.

Edgar-Jones had an impressive 2024 as well, starring in the hit blockbuster 'Twisters'. In 2026, Edgar-Jones will essay Elinor Dashwood in Focus Features’ upcoming adaptation of Jane Austen’s novel, 'Sense and Sensibility'. The British actress is currently working on 'Here Comes the Flood', a Netflix heist film starring Hollywood heavyweights Denzel Washington and 'Batman' star Robert Pattinson.
