Missing 5-year-old Michigan boy with special needs found dead on neighbor's pool cover
ORION TOWNSHIP, MICHIGAN: A five-year-old child lost his life on Saturday, March 25, after vanishing from his home. The name of the boy has not been revealed by the authorities but it has been said that he was a special needs child, who was reported missing by his grandfather.
WWJ Newsroom reported that the Oakland County Sheriff’s Department received a call from the little one’s grandfather around 4 in the evening. He informed the cops that the child was at his home on Devon Street in Orion Township at 3.30 pm but later went missing. Authorities said they discovered that the back door of the house was not locked.

Frantic search for the five-year-old
When the child disappeared, he was in a pair of jeans and a sweatshirt despite the temperature being 37 degrees. Soon, a search operation was launched with the help of the Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue Team, two K-9 units, Orion Township Fire Department personnel, and a number of deputies. Reports claim that cops went to every house in the area to find the boy. They also checked a wooded area, which was close to the place from where the victim went missing, then they checked around a lake, and a swamp.
However, unfortunately, the child was found unconscious on the cover of an above-ground pool, which belonged to a neighbor. The cover was reportedly filled with a foot of standing water. A ladder was also found near the pool, hinting that the child used it to go above it. After the discovery, CPR was performed on the child as he was rushed to the hospital. But he could not be saved and was declared dead eventually. As per reports, an autopsy was carried out Sunday but results are pending.
'Arianna could still be alive'
This horrifying news comes as the search for another missing child is going on since years. A California girl named Arianna Fitts went missing in April 2016 after her mother was found dead. At the time, she was a toddler but now she is expected to be nine. National Center for Missing & Exploited Children has now issued an age progression photo of her along with announcing a $250,000 reward.
In a March 17 statement, the non-profit organization said, "Investigators and NCMEC believe Arianna could still be alive and they’re asking the public to pay attention to her age progression image. Anyone with information is asked to call San Francisco Police at 415-575-4444 or NCMEC at 1-800-843-5678." This post on Facebook attracted numerous comments from people.
A user wrote, “Hope someone recognizes her & notifies police where she can be found & returned to her family.” Another user said, “Prayers for to be found safe and back home with her family.” “Shared with prayers in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania,” the third one stated. Whilst, someoen else added, "Father God, please get her and all the missing home soon and safely-in Jesus' Name. Amen."
