Abe Konick, the youngest home cook on Season 11 of 'MasterChef' won over everybody's hearts with his enthusiasm for cooking and his ability to cook various cuisines. Although Abe has had a few hiccups along the way in the culinary competition, he still managed to be fairly consistent in whipping up some really good dishes for the judges on 'MasterChef: Legends'.

So, when Abe was sent packing home on the recently aired episode of 'MasterChef: Legends' fans were left fuming. Abe's elimination came in the aftermath of poor performance in the team challenge. The home cooks were split into two teams of men and women. The men's team led by Alejandro Valdivia is comprised of vegan home cook Michael Newman, and Abe. While the women's team was led by Autumn Moretti, and had Kelsey Murphy and Suu Khin in it. The homecooks had to whip a two-course meal of an appetizer and an entrée for the regular judges and four legendary chefs- Tanya Holland, Jonathan Yao, Val Cantu. and Sherry Yard. As soon as the challenge began, chaos ensued in the kitchen.

Both Alejandro and Autumn struggled with stepping up as leaders and guiding their team. While Alejandro was too controlling and micro-managing everything, Autumn, on the other hand, was completely lost and couldn't make any decision. Alejandro's controlling nature costed their team not only losing the challenge but also eliminating Abe. The young home cook quietly followed Alejandro's orders without questioning them, which proved to be disastrous for him. The judges were unimpressed with the entire team's performance and sent Abe home.

When fans saw Abe being sent home owing to Alejandro's inability to lead the team, they were beyond furious. A fan tweeted, "Abe got robbed. That mess was on Alejandro #Masterchef." Another fan wrote, "Abe wasn’t finals material but Alejandro has dodged so many bullets #masterchef." "We all know Joseph and Tay were wrongly eliminated, and I feel like Abe was definitely stronger and more consistent than Alejandro and Michael. #masterchef," pointed out a fan.

Many fans also felt that Alejandro should have been sent home a long time ago in the competition. A fan shared, "Honestly Alejandro has had too many lives in this competition #MasterChef #MasterChefLegends." "Alejandro should have been gone home tbh #Masterchef," seconded a fan. Another fan expressed, "Obviously the best team won, but I’m questioning the decision to send Abe home. I get he didn’t speak up, but he wasn’t the captain—Alejandro was and he couldn’t get it together to lead #MasterChef."
