LIMESTONE COUNTY, ALABAMA: Alabama teenager Mason sisk has been sentenced to life in prison without parole for a ghastly crime he committed when he was 14 years old.

Sisk killed five family members, including his parents and three younger siblings, when he was just 14, per Fox News.

Who is Mason Sisk?

Mason Wayne Sisk wiped out his entire family four years ago. He confessed his crimes to his then-girlfriend and a friend, per Law & Crime.

He killed his father John Wayne Sisk, 38, stepmother Mary Sisk, 35, half-brother Grayson, six, half-sister Aurora, four, and half-brother Colson, six months.

Besides committing the gruesome murders, Mason also wished to become a contract killer. When his girlfriend said no, he apparently said, “I am good with a gun, I killed my family in less than 4 seconds. All head shots,” reports the WHNT investigative reporter Dallas Parker.

“Yeah, they argue a lot, and I got fed up with it,” Sisk told authorities in a recorded confession, according to The Associated Press. “And the kids were going through a lot.”

The trial of Mason Sisk

In April, the jury convicted Sisk of the multiple murders in the 2019 shooting. While he initially said he was playing video games in the basement when the shooting occurred, he later confessed to killing his entire family.

On Thursday, September 7, Circuit Judge Chadwick Wise said the crime was "ghastly, disturbing, and draped in unmitigated evil" and called for the harshest punishment allowed by law.

Per the US Supreme Court law, life sentences for convicts under the age of 18 at the time of their crimes are inappropriate and the judges should consider "children’s diminished culpability, and heightened capacity for change."

Noting Sisk’s case was rare, Wise said it was a case that warranted a life sentence without parole for a juvenile defendant.

He further pointed out the victims were killed when they were lying in bed. He said the "circumstances of the Sisk case are much more appalling" than the other cases where juveniles were not given life sentences.

Per WHNT, Limestone County District Attorney Brian CT Jones said, “I’ve prosecuted a lot of people in my career, and I can tell you that out of all of those people, only four or five people scare the hell out of me, and he’s at the top of my list.”

Jones added, “Mason Sisk is clearly one of the most dangerous people who will ever be sentenced in Limestone County. With this sentence today, Judge Wise has ensured that Mason Sisk will NEVER threaten another child’s safety and wellbeing.”

In 2020, when Sisk was 15 and was kept in the detention center with the charge of the grizzly murders, he did not show any remorse, per Fox.

His juvenile probation officer wrote in a report, “Mason does not seem bothered by the fact he’s accused of murdering his family,” before adding, “He has not shown any sign of remorse. While in detention, he has not talked about his family at all.”
