'Married At First Sight' fans tell Bao not to allow Johnny's verbal abuse in her life

After their many arguments and fights, Bao addressed the fact that Johnny is verbally abusive, which brought back unpleasant memories

With decision day quickly approaching, the couples on 'Married At First Sight' have to make a tough choice -- do they want to stay with their partner, or do they want to move on. Making this choice is not an easy one, as it requires them to admit that they might not be a good match at all. And while that doesn't sound hard, it is easier said than done. For Bao and Johnny, the duo started off as one of the season's strongest couples.

Fans were fawning over them and for the most part, they seemed to get along. However, as the season progressed, Johnny continuously belittled and berated Bao, no matter what she did and how hard she tried. It seems as though Bao has now reached her tipping point, and with it comes her own admission of her harsh reality.

At the couples' ranch retreat, the women got together and discussed their marriages. So far, Brett, Bao and Michaela have truly been struggling. While Zack and Michaela both seem to be equally guilty of their marital issues, for Bao and Brett, the blame falls on Johnny and Ryan.

During this conversation, Bao opened up about her past -- she mentioned that while her parents have been married for a very long time, there were points in her childhood where she remembers her father being verbally abusive to her mother. She said that she swore she would never let that happen to her; however, with Johnny, she finds herself in the exact situation. She also noted how she had gone above and beyond to make things work but admitted this was a start and she had had enough. Fans were so glad to see her finally realize the truth and end the cycle.

The verbal abuse has been normalized since childhood. @MAFSLifetime #MAFS #MarriedAtFirstSight #marriedatfirstsightHouston" added a fan. "I'm so glad Bao is labeling Johnny's behavior as abuse. Call it exactly what it is #MAFS #MarriedAtFirstSight" agreed a fan. 

While fans were thrilled that Bao is openly acknowledging that Johnny's behaviour is abusive, they also felt a certain way, seeing that it has come to light that Bao is now dating fellow MAFS star Zack. Zack, who was married to Michaela, had a massive argument with her during their time at the couples' ranch retreat. Michaela turned to Bao for comfort on two separate occasions when the situation got out of hand.

As a result, some fans felt as though Bao and Zack dating was entirely out of line. "Bao however you spell her name, know she wrong for getting with Zack and she done befriend that girl! Though she owe her no loyalty #MAFS" tweeted a fan. "#mafsHouston #MAFS I am not here for this alleged Bao & Zack love connection..that just seems like a line. Yall were all friends married to other people..eeeh. throw this whole season away. I'm done with you MAFS. It does explain Kayla's tone about Bao during the after show tho" added another. "Bao and Zack ain't nothing but a trauma bond. It won't last and it don't make no damn sense. #MarriedAtFirstSight" agreed a fan. 

However, not everyone felt that way, as some people were glad Bao and Zack had found happiness. "ITS OKAY TO VALUE YOURSELF Yep Zack and Baoare my favorite season 13 couple! Removing yourself from a toxic situation is never the wrong answer. #marriedatfirstsight #mafs" tweeted a fan. "Welp y'all see why Zack is with Bao now. She's kind, calm, she listens, she's sweet, not petty. The complete opposite of Michaela #MAFS #MarriedAtFirstSight" added another.
