KELLOGG, IDAHO: Major Jon Kaylor, a married father of three and a miner, is now in police custody on charges of shooting and killing his four neighbors. The horror unfolded when Kaylor allegedly became enraged after witnessing a sexual act being performed by the family's teenage son within view of a window.

Kaylor reportedly told police that he "lost it" and acted to protect his young children. The argument escalated when Kaylor confronted the teenager's mother Kenna Guardipee, 41, on Sunday night, June 18. The victims include Guardipee, her sons Devin Smith, 18, and Aiken, 16, as well as her father Kenneth Guardipee, 65. Law enforcement responded to a mass shooting incident at the multi-dwelling units behind the Mountain View Congregational Church in Kellogg and swiftly apprehended the suspect.

GoFundMe launched to support suspect's family

In the aftermath of the murders, Kaylor's brother-in-law launched a GoFundMe to raise funds to support Kaylor's wife Kaylie and their three children. “My name is Buddy Kaylor. I am trying to raise money for my sister in law and 3 small children for rent groceries and the necessities to live after a tragic event," read the fundraiser. "After enduring continuous unthinkable sexual harassment by a neighbor the current situation has left my brother in jail and the three kids and mom without a provider, thank you for your donations anything helps.”

'You stand your ground'

On Father's Day Kaylie expressed her admiration for her husband in a now-deleted Facebook post. “Happy Father’s Day to the best dad ever. I see you and all that you do for your kids and I," she gushed in the post. "You work hard, stand your ground and don’t give up. You’re the exact person I want our kids looking up to. Our life together is the greatest and I’m so amazingly lucky to have someone like you as the father to my children. The kids and I love you! Can’t wait for you to get home from work♡.”

Kaylor has been charged with four counts of first-degree murder and burglary for entering a neighbor's house and committing the fatal shootings. If convicted, he could face the death penalty. Currently, Kaylor is being held without bond and has not entered a plea. He made his initial court appearance in Shoshone County on Tuesday, where Judge Keisha Oxendine read the charges against him. Following the hearing, Kaylor was escorted by deputies to Shoshone County Jail, located across the street.
