'Madam Secretary' Season 6 will see President Elizabeth McCord tackling problems without her trusted advisor Kat

The final season starring Tea Leoni as the frontrunning President McCord will see the character facing enormous responsibilities and a dash of problems in her presidency.

With great power comes great responsibility and with a new job comes the new task of shedding responsibility on those under you, as fictional president Elizabeth McCord will prove in the upcoming Season 6 of 'Madam Secretary.'

The final season starring Tea Leoni as the frontrunning President McCord will see the character facing enormous responsibilities and a dash of problems in her presidency. Picking up nearly two years after Elizabeth announced that she will be running for office, the CBS show's sixth installment will be showcasing the character's journey from that decision to actually sitting in the office, in the form of flashbacks. For instance, the first promo itself shows Elizabeth in both the campaign trail and later, as the sitting president in the White House.

Reportedly, the now unveiled synopsis of the season 6 premiere episode, titled 'Hail to the Chief', will see her fending off a baseless investigation where her past will need to be evaluated, simultaneously derailing her attempts at conduction the first major legislation in her presidency. Tim Daly will reprise his role as the First Gentleman Henry, with the character almost squirming and getting squeamish following a guest appearance on 'The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.' This will allow a lot of people scrutiny shedding their own light and speculations along with insights on the First Couple's marriage and the quotient of romance that it entails, but based on leaked snapshots from the episode, the two are very happy, and extremely in love.

But while Elizabeth has romance on her side, this will also be the first time she will return to office without her trusted confidant, policy advisor and former chief of staff to the UN Ambassador Kat Sandoval (Sara Ramirez) by her side. Worry not, Ramirez might pop by for a guest appearance or two as a recurring cast member, but her absence will be undeniably missed for the most part of the show.

'Madam Secretary' Season 6 returns this Sunday, October 6, at 10/9c, only on CBS.
