SAN JACINTO, SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA: A horrific incident occurred in San Jacinto after a machete-wielding man was shot dead in his Southern California home after he carged at sheriff's deputies. On Tuesday, January 3, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department responded to a 911 call in San Jacinto shortly before 1.pm after a woman reported that her boyfriend was armed with a blade and began acting strangely around her and her 12-year-old child.

The woman managed to escape the house safely, but the suspect allegedly stopped her from taking her 12-year-old child with her, FOX News reported. The identities of the suspect and the victim were not released. When police arrived, they tried to retrieve the child, at which point the suspect allegedly attacked two officers before being shot dead.

The suspect allegedly threw a wooden object at one of the officers' heads. The armed suspect then struck another officer with his machete, after which an officer shot him. The suspect was taken to a hospital, but succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. One of the officers was treated at the scene with unspecified injuries, and another was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The child was not injured in the incident and was safely removed from the home. The investigation is still ongoing. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Riverside County District Attorney's Office Investigator JR Ferrer or Riverside County Sheriff's Investigator Nelson Gomez at 951-955-2777.

He was arraigned from his hospital bed on Wednesday, January 4, and was charged with two counts of attempted murder and two counts of assault. If Bickford is convicted he faces a mandatory life sentence on charges of attempted murder of a police officer.
