'MacGyver' Season 5 Episode 6 Spoilers: Who is Russ' romantic fling? Things get 'complicated' amid quarantine
Spoilers for 'MacGyver' Season 5 Episode 6 'Quarantine + N95 + Landline + Telescope + Social Distance'
'MacGyver' Season 5 Episode 6 is titled 'Quarantine + N95 + Landline + Telescope + Social Distance'. The beginning of this season was already set in post-Covid time, and Episode 6 will be taking us back to the quarantine days. The synopsis of the episode reads, "During Covid-19's first stay-at-home order, Mac, Bozer, and Riley must stop a crime in progress at their neighbor's house; Russ' romantic fling takes on a longer and more complicated turn when they quarantine together."
We're not surprised that there's a crime, because then how would this be a 'MacGyver' episode? Having said that, we are really interested in Russ's (Henry Ian Cusick) romantic fling.
Episode 6 is set to pick up after the death of Jack Dalton's (George Eads), who had died while he was on the hunt for Tiberius Kovac, a terrorist. Team Phoenix attended the military funeral that was shown in Episode 5, 'Jack + Kinematics + Safe Cracker + MgKNO3 + GTO'. Late Jack had left a letter which led the team to go to an apartment in Zagreb, where Mac (Lucas Till) is led to the safe and finds a picture of smuggler Tibor. They end up using the smuggler as bait to get Kovac and set Riley (Tristin Mays) and Bozer (Justin Hires) free. Not to mention, in a released sneak peek, we also see Riley and Mac getting closer during their quarantine. Will Riley say anything else to Mac considering she's in love with him? Time will tell of course, since Desi and Mac have to be socially distanced for now, even as though they're trying to give their relationship a chance.
Who is Russ's romantic fling?
But the new episode will also have a new case, as mentioned in the synopsis, and we're excited to see how they do their job during a pandemic — a reality many people faced. You may be wondering by now who Russ' romantic fling is — it's with a woman who comes to town named Sofia, played by 'Holby City‘s' Camilla Arfwedson.
This takes a wild turn when they have to end up being in quarantine together — more time together is great, but things can get complicated. Arfwedson is most known for her roles as Young Mrs Ayres in 'The Little Stranger', Lady Charlotte in 'The Duchess' (2008), Zosia in 'Holby City' (2013-2019) and Amanda Black in 'A Bunch of Amateurs' (2008). Her other recent works include 'Casualty' (2019) and 'The Stranger' (2020). She will also be playing the role of Linda Perrybottom in 'Tomy & Jerry: The Movie' (2021).
'Quarantine + N95 + Landline + Telescope + Social Distance' will premiere on Friday, January 22, 2021 at 8 pm EST on CBS. Watch the promo below.
