LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: When Andrew Lincoln‘s character Rick Grimes rode out of the AMC series 'The Walking Dead' on a helicopter in Season 9, we thought that we’d see the character again in a trilogy of feature films. The plan has since changed to a mini-series that will reunite Rick with his love Michonne, played by Danai Gurira. The 'Rick & Michonne' mini-series is now filming in New Jersey, and a new report suggests the first bit of casting for it: Lincoln and Gurira are being joined by Lesley-Ann Brandt, who may be best known for playing the character Mazikeen on 93 episodes of the popular Netflix series, 'Lucifer'.

Furthermore, the new series was first announced by Lincoln, Gurira, and Gimple at San Diego Comic-Con 2022 in July of last year. The series will consist of 6 episodes and will be replacing a previously rumored 'Rick and Michonne' film from Universal Pictures. In addition to starring in the show, both Lincoln and Gurira will also serve as executive producers alongside Denise Huth and Brian Bockrath. Gimple will also serve as executive producer as well as showrunner.

These include 'The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon' which is set to debut sometime in 2023 and will see Norman Reedus return to reprise his role as the titular character, and 'The Walking Dead: Dead City' following Lauren Cohan's Maggie and Jeffrey Dean Morgan's Negan set to release in June 2023.
