Lucas Rosales: Police search for 7-year-old boy who went missing in Ohio while fishing with family

DAYTON, OHIO: A seven-year-old boy disappeared in Ohio on Saturday, April 29 while he went fishing with his family. Lucas Rosales and his family were fishing near Eastwood Metro Park when he was last seen on Harshman Road, according to the Dayton Police Department (DPD).

According to the authorities, the young boy was reported missing on Saturday at around 6.40 pm.  Search efforts to locate Rosales continued on Monday, May 1 and cops stated that they "have no reason to suspect foul play" in the missing case at present, reported People.

'She heard something fall and someone crying'

On Monday, Rosales's sister and father told CBS affiliate WHIO that the boy left them to go along with other family and had warned him from going near the water. They said that they are not sure what happened after he joined the other members.

Talking to the outlet, the missing boy's sister Da'Najiah Wakefield stated, "My sister said she heard something fall and someone crying, and she said she saw splashes in the water and after that, we just don't know."

From drones to K-9s and draining the pond, the search continues

Five Rivers MetroParks announced on Sunday, April 30 that it is currently not open to the public as the investigation into the missing seven-year-old boy continues. In an update on Monday, May 1, police stated that fire crews and Dayton Police are working again to continue their search for Rosales and investigators have expanded their area for search. "We have utilized aviation, drones, and K-9s. We have drained a pond during this search as well," wrote the department.

"The multi-agency search was conducted by more than 100 individuals from organizations and departments including the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Five Rivers MetroParks, Dayton Police and Fire, and volunteer search groups," said the Dayton Police Department.

"I just hope they find him," said a volunteer named Brandye Russell who was part of the search efforts, reported WHIO. The Rosales is described as a three feet tall boy with brown eyes and brown hair and according to the police, at the time of his missing, he was wearing black pants, a white shirt with black sleeves, and black Converse sneakers.
