'Love Island Games': Who is Curtis Pritchard? Ballroom dancer accused of cheating on ex Maura Higgins
STOKE-ON TRENT, STAFFORDSHIRE: 'Love Island Games', a spin-off of 'Love Island' is all set to premiere on Peacock, and fans of the show will also get to see one of their favourite Islanders Curtis Pritchard soon.
Pritchard is a ballroom dancer and choreographer who was born on February 8, 1996, in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England.
The 27-year-old is the brother of 'Strictly Come Dancing' professional A J Pritchard. Curtis has also appeared on the Irish version of 'Dancing With The Stars'.
He had appeared in 'Love Island UK' Season 5 and was initially linked to Amy Hart but, later, he connected to Jourdan Riane. He ended his run in the contest in fourth place with Maura Higgins. They went their separate ways a few months after the show when Curtis accused Maura of cheating on him.
Pritchard was also accused of cheating on his ex Maura Higgins when, post the show, a footage of him getting close to another woman on New Year's Eve appeared online.
While making an appearance on Lorraine Kelly's ITV daytime show, he addressed the cheating allegations and said, “[The] New Year photo is nonsense... you can’t hug somebody or talk to somebody in this day and age without something coming out.” He added, “Me and Maura are completely fine.” They broke up later on.
Why did Curtis Pritchard and Maura Higgins split?
In March 2020, Maura revealed that she and Curtis were no longer together.
She had stated, “Curtis and I have made the decision to separate. We enjoyed a great experience from our time in the villa and want to thank everyone for supporting our relationship. There is no easy way to get through a break up and no bad feeling on either side. We tried to make it work but it wasn’t to be, and I wish Curtis nothing but the best for the future.”
Higgins later revealed the real reason behind their split.
She stated that they parted ways as she no longer saw Curtis as her future husband. She said, "I just felt like I'm 29 and I want somebody that I can see a future with. I'm not getting any younger. Curtis and I barely saw each other. At the beginning it was very, very hard because I was so besotted with him, and we never got to see each other."

'Love Island Games' was filmed in Fiji and will feature previous 'Love Island' members from six nations including The US, The UK, Sweden, Australia, Germany, and France in Peacock's forthcoming show. Maya Jama will host the show and Ian Stirling will narrate.
