'Locked Up' aka 'El Oasis' Season 5: Release date, plot, cast, trailer and all you need to know about Spanish thriller on Netflix
The series 'Locked Up' first aired in Spain on the channel Antena 3 in 2015. After the Spanish thriller was picked up by Netflix for international distribution, it continued to air on the streamer. Also called 'Vis a Vis: El Oasis', the series has had a well-rounded audience for four previous seasons. A story almost similar to Orange Is the New Black's Piper Chapman (Taylor Schilling), audiences see the chronicled life of Macarena Ferreiro (Maggie Civantos) who must learn to be a different person in prison in order to make it out alive after the end of her sentence. It's now ready to fill the OITNB voids in fans with its Season 5 release at the end of July.

Maggie Civantos as Macarena Ferreiro
Civantos is an actress and has been part of quite a few productions. Her most notable and recent works include her roles as Ángeles Vidal in 'Cable Girls' (2017-2020), Blanca in 'Malaka' (2019), Sara in 'The Influence' (2019) and Sandra in 'Alegría, tristeza' (2018). At the Festival Internacional de Cine y Audiovisual Infantil y Juvenil (FICAIJ) in 2019, Civantos won 'Best Performance/Acting' for her role in 'Alan' (2018) and shared the award with her co-stars. In the same year, at the Málaga Spanish Film Festival, she also won for 'Best Supporting Actress' for her role in 'Antes de la quema' (2019).
Najwa Nimri as Zulema Zahir
Most viewers may remember actress Nimri from 'Money Heist' (2019-2020) where she played the role of Alicia Sierra. She too has many productions to her name including her roles as Macarena in 'The Tree of Blood' (2018), and Claudia in '10,000 Nights Nowhere' (2013). Her other notable works include music as the actress is also a singer. Some of the soundtracks she is credited for include, 'Quién te cantará' (2018), 'Cazadores de hombres' (2008) and '20 Centimeters' (2005).
Other members of the cast include Itziar Castro as Goya, Carlos Hipólito as Leopoldo Ferreiro Lobo, Berta Vázquez as Estefanía Kabila Silva “Rizos” and many more.
