'Little Big Women' Full Cast List: Meet Shu-Fang Chen, Ying-Hsuan Hsieh and the rest of the actors in the Taiwanese movie

With a stellar cast, 'Little Big Women' is set to release on February 5 on Netflix

'Little Big Women' first made its debut on October 22, 2020, at the Busan International Film Festival, and was also later screened at the Taoyuan Film Festival and Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival in 2020. It is now set to make its global release on Netflix on February 5, 2021.

Here is the cast that brings this dramedy about love, loss, and forgiving the past to life.

Shu-Fang Chen

The actress is known for her works in 'Dear Tenant' (2020), 'Taipei Story' (1985) and 'Welcome to the Happy Days' (2015). Her other works include 'Plant Goddess' (2019), 'Green Door' (2019), and 'Night Bus' (2019). The actress was nominated for an Asian Television Award in 2017 for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for 'Welcome to the Happy Days' (2015), where she played the role of Shu-Min. She's also won a Golden Horse Award for Best Supporting Actress for 'Dear Tenant' (2020).

The actress was also nominated for two festival awards, one in 2019 for 'Wild Sparrow' (2019) and the other in 2020 for 'Dear Tenant' — both for Best Supporting Actress. Shu-Fang Chen, who was named Best Leading Actress at the 57th Golden Horse Awards, and is the most senior actress to win this award in Taiwan’s film history said, "Taiwanese women are best described as persevering and responsible. I am delighted for the world to watch 'Little Big Women' and to show everyone how the Taiwanese woman holds a family together.” 

Ying-Hsuan Hsieh

Ying-Hsuan Hsieh is known for her works in 'Dear Ex' (2018), 'Green Door' (2019), and 'The Making of An Ordinary Woman' (2019). The actress was nominated for a China Film Media Award in 2019 for Best Actress for 'Shei xian ai shang ta de' aka 'Dear Ex' (2018). She also won a Golden Carp Film Award — Chinese for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role for the same production, and a Golden Horse Award in 2018.

She has also been nominated for a Golden Ball Award six times — in 2015 for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Mini-Series/TV Movie for 'Ma zui feng bao' (2015), in 2016 for Best Performance by an Actress in a Mini-Series/TV Movie for 'The Sweet Place' (2016), twice in 2018 for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Television Series for 'A Boy Named Flora A' and Best Performance by an Actress in a Mini-Series/TV Movie for 'The Juice Dealer', in 2019 for Best Performance by an Actress in a Mini-Series/TV Movie for 'Green Door' and in 2020 for Best Performance by an Actress in a Mini-Series/TV Movie for 'The Making of An Ordinary Woman' (2019). Her other works include 'Wake up' (2015), 'The Sweet Place' (2016), 'Life Plan A and B' (2016), 'Beautiful Accident' (2017) and 'Lion Dance' (2017). For her role in 'Little Big Women', she was nominated for a Golden Horse Award for Best Supporting Actress.

Vivian Hsu

Vivian Hsu is an actress and a producer that is known for her works in 'One Last Dance' (2006), 'The Emperor and the White Snake' (2011), 'The Show Fairy' (2005) and 'Dancing Without You' (2010). The actress was nominated for a Festival Prize at the 2019 Taipei Film Festival for Best Actress for 'Ren mian yu: Hong yu xiao nuhai waizhuan'. She was also nominated for a Golden Lotus Awards at the 2011 Macau International Movie Festival for Best Actress for 'Dancing Without You' (2010). Her two other nominations include her a 2008 Hundred Flowers Award for Best Actress for 'Yun shui yao' (2006) and a 2007 nomination for a China Film Media Award for Best Actress for 'Ren yu duo duo' (2005). Her other works include '(Sex) Appeal' (2014), 'The Tag Along: Devil Fish' (2018), 'The Confidence Man JP: Princess' (2020) and 'Dream Raider' (2020).

The rest of the cast includes Ke-Fang Sun, Han Chang, Janine Chun-Ning Chang, Buffy Chen, Ning Ding, Honduras, Shao-hua Lung, Weber Yang and Sara Yu.

According to Netflix, the film is "based on director Joseph Chen-chieh Hsu’s personal experience, 'Little Big Women' tells the story of how a family grapples with and eventually accepts the fact that their recently deceased grandfather was having an affair, exploring how the grandmother overcomes this grudge and learns to accept the other woman. Diving into how a generation of women free themselves from the confines of traditional family values, the film shines a light on how people experience betrayal and pain and ultimately find reconciliation."
