Nintendo fans are in for a 'party', as news is out that Nintendo will be hosting its 'E3 2021 Direct' later on June 15. Very little is known about 'The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2' yet but it's undoubtedly one of the most highly-anticipated games coming to Nintendo Switch this year. Nintendo fans are already speculating the new developments in the game so far.

Nintendo has already confirmed that the Direct will focus exclusively on Switch software on the horizon. According to McVicker, 'Breath of the Wild 2' will take players back to the same Hyrule layout, introducing new stuff like 'miasma' like corruption and dungeons to add depth and detail to the map. Here's all that you need to know about the event, the start time and the latest rumors surrounding 'Zelda Breath of the Wild 2' and the Nintendo Switch Pro console.

Release Date

Nintendo's 'E3 2021 Direct' will start on June 15 at 9AM PT / 12PM ET / 5PM BST. The event will start with a 40-minute presentation, followed by three hours of gameplay footage. It's very likely that 'Breath of the Wild 2' will be included.

What can you expect from the event?

The event will be followed by a three-hour Treehouse event which will take a deep dive into some of the games showcased. It is widely speculated that 'Zelda Breath of the Wild 2' could be one of the games that could get an update during today's Direct. 'Zelda Breath of the Wild 2' last surfaced when it was revealed at E3 two years earlier. Announcing the Nintendo Direct for E3, @NintendoUK Twitter posted, "On 15/06, Nintendo will host its all-virtual #E32021 activity. Tune in at 17:00 (UK time) for a #NintendoDirect presentation, featuring roughly 40 minutes of information exclusively on #NintendoSwitch software, mostly releasing in 2021." Adding, "Immediately after the #NintendoDirect, continue watching for roughly 3 hours of deep dives on gameplay for a handful of #NintendoSwitch games in Nintendo Treehouse: Live."

Could news on 'Breath of the Wild 2' drop during the event?

There's another reason to think that news on 'Breath of the Wild 2' could drop during 'E3 2021 Direct'. Earlier this year during the February Direct, Eiji Aonuma, the 'Zelda' series producer, hinted that news on 'BoTW 2' would be dropping in 2021. "Unfortunately, we don’t have anything to share right now. We apologize." He added, "Development is proceeding smoothly, and we should be able to bring you some new information this year. For now, we’ll have to ask you to wait just a bit longer." And with news on 'Breath of the Wild 2' confirmed as coming in 2021, what better time to drop the much-awaited announcement than at E3, typically the event where Nintendo makes their biggest announcements of the year?

Other potential announcements during the event include games such as 'Shin Megami Tensei V' and 'Splatoon 3'. It is also expected the final DLC characters for 'Super Smash Bros Ultimate' will also get announced at the E3 2021 Direct.
