‘Kraven the Hunter’: Release date, plot, cast and all you need to know about the ‘Spider-Man’ spin-off

While ‘Venom: Let There Be Carnage’ and ‘Morbius’ have been postponed until 2021, Sony Pictures has more Marvel films in store for us. Sony, right now, is making the most of its license to create films featuring heroes that fall under the umbrella of the 'Spider-Man' license. One of them is ‘Kraven the Hunter’.

No release date for ‘Kraven the Hunter’ has been mentioned as of yet. Watch this space for more details.

Plot

No plot for the ‘Spider-Man’ spin-off film has been disclosed as of yet. But the character Kraven the Hunter, his real name being Sergei Kravinoff, made his debut in 1964’s ‘The Amazing Spider-Man #15’. He was introduced as a Spider-Man villain. Since then, he has been a recurring villain in the universe’s roster. On occasion, however, Kraven the Hunter has also been depicted as an antihero and an ally of Squirrel Girl. Kraven the Hunter is also the half-brother of the disguise master called Chameleon.

Cast

No cast for the film has been disclosed as of yet. It is likely, however, that Tom Holland may appear in the film as Peter Parker/Spider-Man. Other familiar Marvel faces are also likely to feature in the film.

Creators

Filmmaker Jeffrey McDonald Chandor, better known as J. C. Chandor, is reportedly in talks with Sony as a potential director for ‘Kraven the Hunter’. Chandor’s film credits include ‘Margin Call’, ‘All Is Lost’, ‘A Most Violent Year’, and ‘Triple Frontier’.

According to reports, Matt Tolmach and Avi Arad are producing the film, and Richard Wenk of ‘The Equalizer’ fame, Art Marcum and Matt Holloway are writing the screenplay.
