Spoiler alert for 'Katy Keene' Season 1

In this episode titled 'Mama Said', we see Katy Keene (Lucy Hale) dive her emotions back into her work only to get into a bit of an odd situation with her clients.

She finds out that her ex-boyfriend KO is back into the dating scene but her friends relay her thoughts to a more focused version of herself. What she doesn't realize is that although she may have prospects, a "rebound" with a Prince may not have been the best idea.

We finally get more of Pepper Smith's (Julia Chan) storyline when she is confronted about what she's up to — if you recall Pepper kept most of her business private until Jose McCoy (Ashleigh Murray) confronted her about it in the last episode.

Smith instead receives a proposal of sorts, surprising her. It's been a while since we've seen Smith's narrative movie forward, so this was a little bit refreshing.

Jorge Lopez (Jonny Beauchamp), on the other hand, finds out that he may be losing his spot performing at Molly's Crisis to the winner of a drag queen pageant and decides that it was time for Ginger Lopez, his drag persona to shine.

While he enters Lopez into the competition, his mother's reaction shocks him. On the more, 'Riverdale' side of things, Josie gets increasingly nervous about her mother Sierra McCoy (Robin Givens) coming to the Big Apple to hear the release of her EP and will have to meet Alexander Cabot.

Sierra, of course, came with her judgments and her back-handed well wishes. She did take her daughter's side when it came to standing up to Mr Cabot who offered to fund Josie's EP as long as she "took care" of his son.

Not to mention, Hiram Lodge (Mark Consuelos) was name-dropped! This would be the second time 'Riverdale' and 'Katy Keene' come together after the episode that had Veronica Lodge (Camila Mendes) and Keene meet up.

This episode saw the storyline of all four characters move forward. While fans continue to say that the show is moving at a fast pace, we see that the show tries to intertwine each of the characters' narratives into one single storyline, as they all clash apartment 4B in New York City.

While this seems to be a remnant of 'Gossip Girl' or 'Sex In The City,' we have to say that the show has a little more to prove but hopefully, it doesn't continue to be too predictable. The show is definitely a feel-good introduction to the weekend and the actors definitely embody their comic role character pretty well.

The show also brought back Prince Errol (Saamer Usmani) and Patricia (Saamer Usmani) back into the mix which was added to the drama the episode needed. Shangela as Miss Deveraux was also a great addition to the episode as she is one of the best queens in the history of RuPaul's Drag Race.

From the flares of Katy's outfits down to the attitude that is New York heavy, we'll find out where the journeys of these four characters take them as they continue to dream big amidst life's struggles.

'Katy Keene' airs Thursdays at 8 pm EST on The CW.
