LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA : To promote the second season of 'Outer Range', Josh Brolin bares all. The sci-fi western series, which premiered on Prime Video in April 2022, centers on the Abbott family. The Abbotts' lives are altered when they find a mysterious black void on their property while they are still grieving the loss of their daughter-in-law. The appearance of the wandering Autumn (Imogen Poots), who may know more than she lets on, further complicates the issue.
By sharing a naked photo on social media, Brolin, who portrays Royal Abbott, hinted at the release of 'Outer Range' Season 2. The actor, who is best known for playing Thanos in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, stated in the photo's caption that the sci-fi series is moving in a "different direction."

What did Brolin share on social media?
Brolin is spotted in his birthday suit while unwinding between takes on the second season of the drama Outer Range, in which he plays a Wyoming rancher battling for his family and land. The show stars Brolin. Charles Murray (Sons of Anarchy, Luke Cage), who took over for series creator Brian Watkins in October when the show was revived, is now in charge of the show, and Brolin teases what viewers may anticipate from it.
While sharing the post, he gave a caption saying, “Prepping for a scene for “Outer Range” Season 2,” Brolin wrote on his Instagram page. “We are taking things in a different direction now. It’s a shifting world and we have to be sensitive to all. Power of example is everything, so examples we are. We aren’t supposed to post photos from the show but this isn’t really during the show, but rather lunch outside in the beautiful Santa Fe desert. What has happened in 'Outer Banks' so far?
Autumn's identity is revealed in the Outer Range Season 1 finale. She turns out to be Amy, Royal's future granddaughter. It's further mentioned that Amy eventually developed an interest in the past and the time-traveling capabilities of the black hole. Since she developed an obsession and started to essentially worship the Void, this twist has only become more challenging. When it returns for Season 2, Outer Range will dig further into the Amy-Autumn narrative.
Other issues that the series will need to address are Perry's (Tom Pelphrey) disappearance and the details of Royal's contentious relationship with Autumn. But because the release date for Outer Range season 2 is still TBD, Brolin came up with a clever strategy to promote the upcoming show.
