Joseph Cantrell: Man arrested for stabbing Microsoft engineer 13 times, Apple Watch alerts victim's wife
REDMOND, WASHINGTON: A Microsoft employee was allegedly stabbed more than a dozen times as he was leaving the office after a day's work. According to a probable cause statement from the Redmond Police Department, the 26-year-old engineer was waiting at a crossing in front of the Microsoft headquarters on February 22. The victim was rushed to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where authorities last stated he was in "critical" condition. While the victim's name hasn't been made public yet, authorities have arrested 27-year-old Joseph Cantrell for the assault.
The worker told police that he heard someone shouting as they approached him while he waited for the crosswalk signal to change. He informed the authorities that he had been repeatedly stabbed after turning around. His wife told police that after he was stabbed, his fall prompted his Apple Watch to warn her. Authorities claim that the man ran away after a witness shouted at him to stop stabbing, as reported by Startelegram.
