On the May 28 edition of the late night show ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’, host Jimmy Kimmel had a special guest of the evening. This time around, he didn’t do a video chat/call with his guest but went for a direct, in-person interaction. Why? Because his guest of the evening also happens to be his neighbor and it was none other than Dakota Johnson. For the special segment, Kimmel headed to his backyard and chatted with Johnson over the fence, while observing social distancing and maintaining the quarantine rule.

They talked about Johnson’s life in lockdown, the time when Led Zeppelin sneaked into Kimmel's yard, her grandmother Tippi Hedren, and other interesting anecdotes from the past. And the fans found it a bit odd how the two neighbors kept talking across the backyard. But this oddity is quite a hilarious one, or so the fans feel. They took to Twitter and shared how the interview made them feel. One fan cannot hold her laughter and comments, “LMAO. This is the weirdest interview. #JimmyKimmel #JimmyKimmelLive”. At the same time, she is also not comfortable with the idea of talking over the fence, “… I am uncomfortable#JimmyKimmelLiveFromHisHouse”, she adds.

Another fan finds this set up a bit strange and comments, “It's the most bizarre and incredibly funny thing I've ever seen ... #JimmyKimmelLiveFromHisHouse#DakotaJohnson.” The interview segment also reminded some people about other shows, which are, to say, are quite funny. “Watching @JimmyKimmelLive  interviewing #DakotaJohnson through their fence was kinda like watching #HomeImprovement with Tim and Wilson talking through the fence...” says a fan seeing how Kimmel and Johnson stood across the fence of each other’s house and kept chatting away like regular neighbors do.

While some people found this hilarious, others thought that this was perhaps the most interesting thing on the late night show in a long time. Ever since Kimmel started hosting the late night show from his house, people have not found much to discuss, debate, or comment on. But the “over the fence” chat with Dakota Johnson seems to have piqued much interest among fans on social media. One such fan says, “So @jimmykimmel FINALLY had a decent bit from his house as he visited with his neighbor, young actress Dakota Johnson:#JimmyKimmelLiveFromHisHouse.”

‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ now airs every weeknight at 11:35 am ET, right from his home. Catch up on the full episode later on ABC. Check your local listings for more updates and information.
