'Jimmy Kimmel Live': Lucy Hale dishes on fashion in 'Katy Keene', gives fans a peek at her singing skills at 14

You would know her as Aria Montgomery in the teenage drama-thriller 'Pretty Little Liars' but now, more so as Katy Keene in the 'Riverdale' spin-off series, 'Katy Keene'.  Lucy Hale appeared for the first time on the late night show, 'Jimmy Kimmel Live', where she spoke about her current project with the show host. 

Dressed in a bedazzling, sequined gown, Hale appeared in her exuberant best. As Kimmel congratulated her on her latest show, she went on to explain how her character for the show shaped up. For those who are unaware, the character of Katy originated first in the 40s and has appeared multiple times as breadcrumbs and brief mentions across the Archie comic series since 1945. Katy is a model, actress, and singer and grew to be "America's Queen of Pin-ups and Fashions'. Hale plays the titular character and as she disclosed on the talk show, she enjoys dressing up in the most stylish outfits. When Kimmel questioned if she would like to see herself dressed as the original character from the vintage era, she seemed very excited and enthusiastic and instantly agreed. Hale's on-screen fashion has always been an interesting point of discussion. Even in 'Pretty Little Liars' her character, Aria, remained one of the most talked-about when it came to fashion. 

Apart from her latest show, Hale also gave the audience an insight into her childhood. She was on  'American Idol Junior', a sister show of the nationally popular musical talent hunt 'American Idol'. Hale had a good run on the reality show and gained some popularity with her performances.  Kimmel ran a clip of a teenage Hale singing away, impressing the judges, while her mother sang along. At that time, she was only 14, with very post 90s style sense and long, blonde hair.

Beyond an actor, Hale also identifies herself as an artist. Kimmel had all the proof of her latest creativity from her Instagram account, where we could see a beautifully carved pumpkin portraying the face of Lionel Richie and his hit song 'Hello' carved on the side. 

As if on cue, the legendary singer, along with his 'American Idol' co-judges, Katy Perry and Luke Bryan also made an appearance on the late night show, talking about Perry's upcoming wedding, and the music reality show's latest additions.
