BROOKLYN, NEW YORK: Authorities have shot and killed the suspect behind the shocking execution-style slaying of a man and his stepson after he charged at them with a knife during a traffic stop in Brooklyn on Wednesday, October 31.

Jason Pass, 47, was in a car on Bay 44th Street when police got a hit on his license plate and conducted a traffic stop, at which point, the situation took a violent turn.

“He charged at them with a knife,” a police source said, calling it “suicide.”

The perpetrator was rushed to NYU Langone Hospital in critical condition and later died of his injuries after being hit four times, including three shots to the chest, police said.

“He didn’t give us a choice,” police said of Pass racing “full sprint” at officers with a six-inch knife.

Jason Pass was a former correction officer

Police identified the former correction officer as the suspect in the cold-blooded killings of 47-year-old school bus driver Bladimy Mathurin and his 27-year-old stepson, Chinwai Mode, on Wednesday, October 31.

The horrifying double homicide occurred at Brooklyn’s Flatbush Gardens apartment complex on Sunday night, October 29, and was caught on surveillance video.

The shooting, which took place in the hallway of a well-known housing complex where stars Barbra Streisand and Michael K Williams grew up, was sparked by an argument over noise.

The appalling footage showed the shooter, dressed in dark clothing, angrily confronting his upstairs neighbors over noise before 10.30 pm on Sunday, October 29.

As there was no audio in the footage, it is not known what exactly was said during the heated exchange.

Bladimy Mathurin charged out of his apartment brandishing a pair of scissors

The feud then turned worse when Mathurin charged out of his apartment brandishing a pair of scissors and faced off against his neighbor in the hallway.

The suspect was seen pulling a handgun in the video. Mathurin spots the gun but waves it off and turns around and begins walking toward his fourth-floor apartment, at which point the neighbor takes aim, fires several shots and strikes Mathurin who falls to the floor.

Mode was also in the hallway and tried to get away from the gunman to save his life but it was already too late by then as the gunman fired multiple shots at him, including at least twice after he collapsed in a pool of his own blood.

The suspect returned to the still-alive Mathurin and shot him execution-style on his doorstep as the victim was struggling to rise. Pass then calmly took the elevator down to the lobby and fled.

What did Bladimy Mathurin's wife say?

Marie Delille, Mathurin’s grieving widow, said her neighbor fired nine shots at her husband and son in front of her 10-year-old daughter.

Nine .45-caliber shell casings and five bullet fragments were recovered from the hallway.

The victim's wife further noted that Pass has been feuding with her family over noise for years and NYPD Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny confirmed on Tuesday, October 31, that there were six previous 311 calls complaining of people walking upstairs placed from the suspect’s apartment.

“This man hates us with every bone in his body,” Delille told CBS New York of the neighbor.

Jason Pass had a prior criminal history

Pass had a prior criminal history that included a 1992 arrest for robbery. He worked as a correction officer at Sing Sing Correctional Facility in Ossining from September 2004 to June 2005 when he was sacked, a Department of Corrections and Community Supervision spokesperson said.
