Jason Kuperman: Manhattan dad accused of sexually harassing young nannies, sending them inappropriate texts
MANHATTAN, NEW YORK CITY: Jason Kuperman, a Manhattan father, has been accused of sexually harassing young women who applied for nanny and babysitting gigs by making inappropriate comments, sending inappropriate texts and, in one instance, asking for oral sex during a nanny selection job interview.
The 27-year-old prospective nanny, who identified herself by her first name, Dawan, from Thailand, said her meeting with Kuperman at his apartment on Wednesday, March 8, left her traumatized. She told the New York Post that she went to his apartment for an interview for a job that would pay $20 an hour to watch his 1-year-old daughter.

When she was alone in the apartment with Kuperman, he took her on a tour of the bedroom. While in the bathroom, she said that he showed her a cushion and remarked it would be good for performing oral sex and asked, "Do I like b*** j**?" Have I ever done that or not?"
At which point, the shocked Dawan did not answer. Then, she said, he later asked again, "You don’t do the b*** j**?" and then, "asked me will I do it or not."
"I said ‘No, I don’t do it", Dawan told.
'I was just asking a question'
The frightened Dawan then began secretly recording Kuperman with her phone. She provided the alleged recording to the news outlet. In the recording, Dawan could be heard asking Kuperman why he asked her such an inappropriate question. He replied, "It’s like cleaning a closet, doing laundry... You don’t have to. I was just [asking] a question. You don’t have to".
Dawan reported the encounter to the NYPD. A friend of Dawan posted about the encounter on Facebook's parent and nanny groups. "Please avoid this man at all costs or anyone who seems like they might want to take advantage of you," she said. Several women who read it came forward to speak up about similar experiences they encountered with Kuperman.
A Brazilian woman said that she exchanged messages with Kuperman about a possible job in which he told her she was too beautiful and he wouldn’t be able to control himself. "I am part of a Brazilian group for babysitting gigs in the city and three girls said the same thing. They were scared to say something or go to the police because of immigration status," she wrote.
'Too hot to be a nanny'
Another young babysitter from Manhattan, who used to work at Kupperman's house, for about a month spoke up. She claimed that Kuperman made inappropriate comments, including that she was "too hot to be a nanny". Then she accused him of grabbing her a** which let her quit the job.
Kuperman was a member of at least one of the Facebook groups for nannies and babysitters. After the allegations were posted, he apparently deleted his Facebook profile.
