Despite Heuermann being hired to work for Trump, no direct communication between the two has been reported. In the filing, Steve Lafiosca, who is the VP of property management for the Trump Organization is shown as the owner while Heuermann is named the applicant. Heuermann pleaded not guilty to murder charges
The 59-year-old was taken into custody near his office after he was suspected of killing three women in their 20s' whose bodies were found along Ocean Parkway in December 2010. Heuermann who appeared at court on July 14 pleaded not guilty to three counts of murder in the first degree and three counts of murder in the second degree. The married father of two is also considered a prime suspect in the death of 25-year-old woman Maureen Brainard-Barnes. Michael Brown, the lawyer for Heuermann said his client "insisted he did not commit these crimes." Describing the suspect as a "hardworking" licensed architect who has no prior criminal past, Brown said, "He is a loving husband to his wife of over 25 years and an involved and dedicated father to his daughter and stepson... there is nothing about Mr Heuermann that would suggest that he is involved in these incidents."
The Gilgo Beach task force continues to investigate Heuermann's residence in Long Island. His home is just across South Oyster Bay from where the dead bodies of the murdered young women were discovered in 2010.
