Jessica Lange’s ‘American Horror Story’ return confirmed as Ryan Murphy shares first look at Season 13
'American Horror Story' Season 13 had an ominous tease for fans ahead of the new season's release. Ryan Murphy Productions dropped three set photos, each showing Jessica Lange peering out of what appears to be an old window. She is seen in a blue dress and heels. However, the images show her only from the back, but they have gone viral since then. Season 13 sees the 'King Kong' star return to the show after eight years since her portrayal as Constance Langdon in Season 1 of the hit FX series.
In Season 2, she returned as Sister Jude Martin; in Season 3, Fiona Goode; and in Season 4, Elsa Mars. Furthermore, he reprised her role as Langdon in Season 8. At the time of writing, it is unclear whether Lange reprises her role as Langdon or whether a new character will appear in the upcoming season of the horror anthology. Starring alongside Lange are Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, Gabourey Sidibe, and Leslie Grossman. The other major addition is Ariana Grande.
The latest comes on the back of Murphy weighing in on the future of the series. "I did have a wonderful conversation with Sarah Paulson the other day, and she was like, 'Okay, I think it’s time we get the band back together, so let’s make some calls here," Murphy told Variety. "I think doing the play, she got to do this great new thing, and then also be like, 'Oh, wow, people love that brand, and they loved me in.' I love that show. I’ll never give up on that show."
Season 12 of 'AHS' was titled 'Delicate' and starred Emma Roberts as Anna Victoria Alcott. The story follows Alcott as she desperately tries to get pregnant, despite many signs that it might not be the right move for her. After multiple rounds of IVF, however, she finally finds herself pregnant, but her problems are far from over. The 12th installment was a hit with critics and fans who praised the tight storyline and the cast performances. At the time of writing, there is no official release date for 'American Horror Story' Season 13. Barring the previous season, which dropped in April 2024, the rest of the series has usually had a fall release, suggesting the new installment might stick to the familiar September-October release window. In the meantime, fans can catch all 12 seasons of 'American Horror Story' on Hulu.
