'How I Met Your Father' premiered on Hulu dropping two episodes and Twitter was torn between 'cute' and 'meh'. The sitcom, a spinoff of the classic 'How I Met Your Mother' was one of the much-awaited shows of 2022 and while first-time viewers with less knowledge of the OG show enjoyed it, the ardents seemed to be less pleased.

The series sees Hilary Duff and Kim Cattrall play the lead role, with the pilot will be directed by Pam Fryman, who directed a major chunk of the sitcom. Fryman directed 196 out of 208 episodes and although the show finale had fans were happy to see the same creative minds who gave the spinoff the same treatment, although it lacked some punch. Fan reviews were pretty mixed. "First episode of How I Met Your Father is cute. Not sure if I'll stick with it but not like I watch that much anyway," one of the tweets read.

'How I Met Your Father': 5 things you didn't know about Hilary Duff

"Did we really need a “How I Met Your Father”? Why can’t we take the millions of books out there and turn them into live action media? Why do we have to constantly reboot shit no one asked for?!" one of the comments read. "My review of the first episode of How I Met Your Father: it was pretty corny but there were a few good jokes. I will watch the 2nd episode and see if they can dial down the cringe factor a little," another opined.

"just watched the first episode of how i met your father and i liked it not as much as how i met your mother but still a good start the last two scenes were it connected himym with this spinoff hit me seeing that aparment i knew and loved from the old show hit me 8/10 now to ep 2," a tweet said. "How I met your father is funny and corny," one of the fans remarked.

Some thoughts on the show followed as well. "I do however appreciate that how I met your father kills the movie trope that it’s romantic to stalk someone to the plane they’re just about to board and tell them you’re meant to be instead of like… healthy communication and realistic standards lol sorry," a fan exclaimed.
