'Intelligence': Meet David Schwimmer and the rest of the cast of the workplace comedy coming to Peacock
David Schwimmer and Nick Mohammed are uniting their comedic forces for NBCUniversal's upcoming workplace sitcom 'Intelligence'. Set in the UK's Government Communications Headquarters, the Sky One original is a "weedier, geekier, more bureaucratic version of MI5 and MI6". Schwimmer and Mohammed together tackle international and domestic Cyber Crime from a desktop. But how long before workplace shenanigans come in the way? Before 'Intelligence' arrives on NBCUniversal's latest streaming service on July 15, 2020, meet the cast.
David Schwimmer as Jerry Bernstein
Schwimmer plays the role of "a pompous maverick NSA agent" Jerry Bernstein. According to the synopsis, upon his arrival in the UK commences a power grab that "threatens to disrupt the team's ability to combat cyber terrorism". The actor gained worldwide recognition for playing one of the protagonists Dr Ross Geller on NBC's 'Friends'. Schwimmer was the first actor among the six protagonists to be cast, but he had first turned down the role as Ross only later accepting it. Executive producer Kevin S. Bright had said that Ross' character was written with Schwimmer in mind.
Ross's character went on to earn the actor worldwide recognition. He received a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series in 1995. Outside of his work in television and movies, Schwimmer is an active director of the Rape Treatment Center in Santa Monica, which specializes in helping victims of date rape and child rape. His directorial venture 'Trust' created a conversation around child rape, sexual abuse and pedophilia. The actor has also campaigned for legislation to ban drugs such as Rohypnol and GHB.
Nick Mohammed as Joseph
Mohammed plays the role of Joseph, "an inept and tactless computer analyst". The actor and comedian created 'Intelligence' and also writes the series. He is best known for voicing Piglet in the live-action film 'Christopher Robin'. He is also known for his work on 'The Nutcracker and the Four Realms', and 'The Kid Who Would Be King'. Mohammed is also known for writing and starring in two series of 'Detective Sergeant Nick Mohammed', a comedy set in a police station, for BBC Radio 4. Created and written by Mohammed and directed by Matt Lipsey, 'Intelligence' arrives on Peacock on July 15, 2020.
Gana Bayarsaikhan as Tuva Olsen
Bayarsaikhan plays the role of "a former hacker who captures the attention and affections of Jerry". The Mongolian model, TV and film actress made her debut as android Jane on 'Ex Machina'. She is best known for her role as "the girl" in the 2019 film 'Waiting for the Barbarians' alongside Johnny Depp and Mark Rylance.
