‘Hunters’ Episode 7: Jerrika Hinton as Millie Morris is a badass '70s FBI agent who upholds justice above all
If the show is about Holocaust survivors seeking justice and stopping the Fourth Reich in '70s America, then it is also about people standing on the right side of the law, ensuring that it is done in the right manner. That’s where FBI Agent Millie Morris comes in. An African-American woman, one of the few to be in her position those days, she bends the rules and does not care a dime about diplomacy. All she has respect for is but law and upholding justice.
Morris's character shall inspire you instantly. And who is to laud for her character’s strength? No one but Jerrika Hinton, of course!
Strong, powerful, and admirable in every action, Hinton makes us feel a sense of respect and awe for Agent Morris from the very first scene we saw her in. Millie Morris is a woman of principle, yet she is right where she is in defying conventions. A closet lesbian, she might be keeping her personal life under the wraps and away from public knowledge (homosexuality wasn’t acknowledged as much as it is now then), and yet, she leaves no stone unturned to find the truth and seek justice for those who deserve it.
From being sensitive where it’s needed and being the tough cookie where she has to be, Millie Morris’ portrayal would not have been bang on point if it was not for Hinton getting into the skin of the character.
A popular face of network television, Hinton has made many appearances in popular primetime shows like ‘Grey’s Anatomy’, ‘Scandal’, ‘Here and Now’ and more. But her role as Agent Millie Morris makes her shine like never before, bringing her best to the table and making us love her as a '70s FBI agent in full vigor.
