HARFORD COUNTY, MARYLAND: Rachel Morin's apparent death has left her family devastated. The 37-year-old mother reportedly never returned home after going for a walk on Saturday, August 5. On the following day, a woman's body was discovered on the Ma and Pa Trail in Bel Air, the same place from where Rachel vanished.
In a statement from the Harford County Sheriff's Office, Sheriff Jeffrey Gahler said, "We firmly believe this is the body of Rachel Morin. But that final determination belongs with the medical examiner and that has not happened yet," adding, "I’m not going to go into what, physically, they observed at the scene. But investigators believe sadly that it’s a homicide case."

Rachel was the single mother of five children, as per The Baltimore Banner. Her friend of five years, Becca Dill, described Rachel as a "spiritual person" and "a fighter" who was "looking for someone to love her in her raw form." Dill also shared that Rachel was an owner of a house-cleaning business and used to enjoy dance, music, books, and exercise whenever she gets free time. Another person close to Rachael, Ally Walsh, took to Facebook to write, "Things won’t ever be the same, I’ll miss all of our laughs and beach trips and good times we had. You were such a bright soul we love and miss you so much already! Everyone, please keep her family in your prayers."
Rachel's sister Rebekah Morin has been the one to speak extensively about her, especially on Facebook. She dedicated a poem to Rachel, which read, "Shrouded in grief/Suffocating In soul crushing/Heartbreak/A pain I know well/And hate/My sister/My friend/Now gone/Alone I am/With my pain/My old friend/The only one/That stays til the end." In another post, Rebekah mentioned, "Rachel Morin I love you and miss you so much ❤️ I know you are up there with our boys who have gone up before us, in a way I'm jealous that you get to see them again first, and angry that you left me here without you... Save a place for me... ❤️," and attached a music video.

The grieving sister revealed in a now-deleted post that her family has been marred with tragedies as of late. She wrote, "As many of you have seen, my brother Nathan and his wife Magan lost their sweet Lily Beth a week ago. So our whole family has been hit with back-to-back losses," as per The Sun. Rebekah also created a GoFundMe page for her sister’s last rites, noting, "My sister, Rachel Morin went missing on Saturday, August 5 2023 around 6 pm. In less than 24 hours her body was found by local law enforcement. I have made a GoFundMe to help my mother, Patty Morin with funeral costs. There was no life insurance in place." She went on to claim, "This was not an accidental death, and she did not go willingly and she deserves a funeral worthy of her her beauty.
