LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'House of the Dragon' Season 2 Episode 6 aired on HBO on July 21, 2024. The epic action-adventure show has been a slow burn in the second season so far while sneakily enticing the audiences with some of the most enthralling battles in the seasons to come. One such setup came in Episode 6.

A moment in Episode 6 sees Aemond Targaryen (Ewan Mitchell) discuss the possibility of the Triarchy, whom we saw defeated in the Stepstones in Season 1, coming back to get their revenge on Corlys Velaryon (Steve Toussaint).

Corlys Velaryon has put up a blockade on Gullet that has affected supplies to King's Landing and it is becoming a major hindrance for the Greens to run King's Landing and an immediate concern for Aemond. As per 'Fire and Blood', an epic battle will ensue in Gullet.

Ser Otto Hightower (Rhys Ifans) has been missing in action since Aegon II Targaryen (Tom Glynn-Carney) removed him as the Hand of the King. In the book, Otto allies with the Triarchy and smashes the blockade of Gullet kicking off the Battle of Gullet.

The battle will see the Triarchy go up against Corlys Velaryon who will be assisted by dragon riders. Jacerys Velaryon (Harry Collett) will fly with his dragon Vermax and destroy the ships but the Triarchy has the experience of fighting dragons from the battle in Season 1 and they were prepared for it.

They kill Vermax with their arrows as he drowns in the sea and Jacerys gets killed by a crossbow too. The death of Jacerys is a huge blow to the blacks but they have help in the form of the Dragonseeds.

Dragonseeds are dragon riders Hugh the Hammer (Kieran Bew), Ulf (Tom Bennett), Addam of Hull (Clinton Liberty), and a character called Nettles who is probably replaced by Rhaena Targaryen (Phoebe Campbell) in the show.

The Battle of Gullet is won by the Blacks however the victory comes at a huge cost to both sides. The Triarchy burn down one-third of the Velaryon fleet and their ship Spicetown. The Triarchy is severe in Driftmark and kills a lot of people in Velaryon's town.

The Greens however are not able to break the stranglehold of Corlys Velaryon on the sea and King's Landing as the Blockade stands. The Triarchy abandons the Greens and loses more than half of their fleet. They decide to not fight with the Greens any longer.

The victory comes at a cost but it is an important victory for the Blacks as it takes away the biggest threat that the Greens could have offered. Corlys Velaryon however considers this victory one that he would never hope for.

The Battle of Gullet is expected to take place in Season 3.
