LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: It’s almost time for ‘Dancing with the Stars’ Season 31 to hit the screen. With the new season, the show will bring new challenges and new changes. After premiering for more than a decade on ABC, this time Disney+ has taken the chance to premiere the season.

Tyra Banks will once again return as the host of the dancing competition show. Well, this time she has a partner by her side as the new changes are a bit too much for her to handle alone. The couples will give cut-throat competition to each other and the one who survives till the end will take away the title of the show.

Banks spills she is 'not ready to handle the new format alone'

Disney+ brings the new format for ‘Dancing with the Stars’ in season 31. The "no commercial" version is introduced to the show. It must be exciting for the audience as they will get to see live performances without any ads. But, it’s intense for the hosts and competitors of the show as they will have to hustle more to keep up with the pace. Banks talks about the new format in an interview with US Weekly, saying, "There’s no way I could handle this new format alone." Indeed, to ease her responsibility, the show has brought Alfonso Ribeiro to cohost with Banks.

Banks further explains how commercials are used to help them to have time to clear the sets. However, not having that time will make a bit of chaos on the stage this time. Banks claims, "it’s nonstop action." Well, the concept of introducing a new host is to help cut away some time for the stage so that crew and dancers can take their time to be ready for their performance.

Banks was hit by nostalgia when the idea of bringing Ribeiro was brought to her

Ribeiro was the winner of ‘Dancing with the Stars’ Season 19. Back then, he paired with professional dancer Witney Carson. Indeed, he is well aware of how the show works. Banks says that when the idea of Ribeiro being the co-host was brought to her, she was hit by nostalgia. Banks were all in excitement saying a thousand yes to the idea. She claims, "Nostalgia is everything these days so I felt that Alfonso and I being together on a stage again after those fun ‘Fresh Prince of Bel-Air times will be fun…"

Ribeiro is given the responsibility of interviewing the contestants, while, Banks is in charge of being on the ballroom floor. It will be easy for Ribeiro to interview participants as he himself has been one long time ago, therefore, he is well aware of the chills one gets before the performance.

Bringing all the fun and newness, ‘Dancing with the Stars’ Season 31 is set to release on September 19 on Disney+.
