In 'Homicide: New York' Episode 4, the narrative takes viewers back to 1996, where Howard Pilmar, a prominent entrepreneur in the high-end coffee shop and office supply industries, was brutally stabbed over 40 times and left in a hallway outside his Manhattan office.

Frank Pilmar, Howard Pilmar's father, revealed that he had given his business, King Office Supply, to his son before Howard's murder.

Roger Parrino was in charge of the Midtown South detectives investigating Howard Pilmar's murder. He revealed that Howard was stabbed repeatedly in the chest, back, and neck.

His body was discovered in a large pool of blood in the fourth-floor offices, adding to the gruesome nature of the crime scene.

As the investigation progressed, detectives discovered that Howard's wife, Roslyn, and her brother, Evan Wald, had both visited Howard's office the night before he was found dead.

This raised suspicions and led investigators to consider the possibility of their involvement in the crime.

During the questioning of Evan, they observed a cut on his hand, leading to suspicions regarding their potential roles in the crime.

Despite an extensive investigation, detectives were unable to identify any other suspects in the murder of Howard Pilmar.

Detectives conducted a thorough investigation, interviewing a total of 180 individuals to gather information and explore leads in the search for additional suspects.

They were unable to find enough evidence to charge or arrest Roslyn and Evan in connection with Howard's murder.

Detectives also learned that Roslyn attempted to sell the business shortly after her husband's death.

They are currently serving their sentences.
