'Here he is, alive and happy': Internet tears up at video of murdered Tyre Nichols skateboaring

'Just so beautiful to @watch and what talent this amazing young man had,' a user said about Tyre Nichols, who was allegedly killed by 5 police officers at a traffic stop

MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE: Social media users have dug up a video of murdered Tyre Nichols skateboarding on a sunny morning. The video shows Nichols visibly enjoying himself as the Internet says it wishes to give his performance "prominence over the video of his murder by the racist state."

Five former Memphis cops have been fired and charged with murder in the death of Nichols, a Black man who died three days after being brutally beaten up by them at a traffic stop. The five officers who have been charged are Tadarrius Bean, Demetrius Haley, Desmond Mills, Jr, Emmitt Martin III and Justin Smith, all of who are Black. The officers were members of the Scorpian unit, a group the department created to tackle street crime. A video footage of the brutality was released, following which his family urged demonstrators to protest peacefully.

Many social media users are tearing up watching the video. "I liked the idea of giving this video of Tyre Nichols prominence over the video of his murder by the racist state. Here he is, alive and happy, as he should have remained," one user wrote, sharing the skateboarding video on Twitter. Another said, "Thank you for posting this. There are no words to express the pain his family must feel. I'm so sorry this happened. We have to make it stop". "Soaring through the air. May Mom feel the warm wind across her face, knowing her baby is at peace, in the arms of the Father. He's watching over her right now," wrote one user. 

"Thank you for sharing this beautiful video of Tyre. I couldn't watch pass 10 sec of the body cam footage. I cried so hard. I felt the rage in me boiling. Seeing this video made me smile. Tyre is with the Divine creator," one user wrote, while another said, "Rest in peace Tyre. I Pray you’re skateboarding in heaven among the fluffiest clouds-You deserved so much more." One said, "ust so beautiful to@watch and what talent this amazing young man had. What a sad waste of a precious life ! just no words for his now fatherless child and Precious Mother and Family".

"Reminds me of those beautiful warm summer nights when I was a kid playing outside all day with my friends! RIP Tyre rest in Power!!!!" one user wrote on Reddit. "What a beautiful man," another user said.
