LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Transgender individual Hannah Tubbs, previously known as James Tubbs, is facing 15 years in prison for the brutal murder of a friend. The 27-year-old's sentence comes after a two-year prison term for molesting a 10-year-old girl in January 2022.

Tubbs had been tried as a juvenile due to a policy in place at the time in California. However, shocking recordings later revealed Tubbs joking about "gaming the system," prompting harsh criticism from the public and officials.

Now, Tubbs has entered a plea agreement in which she is convicted of manslaughter and sentenced to 15 years in prison for the 2019 murder of Michael Clark, who was beaten to death with a rock in Kern County.

Tubbs initially faced charges of first-degree murder, threatening a witness, robbery, and assault but accepted the plea deal, with the sentencing set for December 7, according to Daily Mail.

Hannah Tubbs' troubling criminal history

The case of Tubbs is indeed alarming, given her history as a serial pedophile. Her prior convictions include sexually assaulting a 10-year-old girl in a Denny's restaurant bathroom.

She had also been convicted of a similar attack on a four-year-old girl in a library bathroom in Bakersfield, California, and was suspected of another assault on a four-year-old girl, this time in a toy store bathroom.

Moreover, Tubbs had previously faced two convictions for aggravated battery in Idaho and had served a four-year sentence for attacking a man with a knife shortly before her conviction in the LA County sex assault case.

Internet argues for harsher punishment for Hannah Tubbs

The internet has been ablaze with outrage over Tubbs' sentence, with many expressing the belief that it is too lenient.

Some online users voiced their concerns, saying that Tubbs should have received a more severe punishment.

One user on X expressed their dissatisfaction, stating, "He should get more than that." Another user was similarly appalled, commenting, "Sickening. The friend did not get a plea deal."

Another voice in the online chorus weighed in, declaring, "Pathetic." Another concerned individual lamented, "Sorry, but 15 years is not enough for a child molester. I guess the plea deal saves a trial, but still not enough time."

A fifth user also raised doubts about Tubbs trans identity, misgendering her in a tweet, accusing Tubbs of insulting "real trans women." The tweet read, "The guy was never trans. He changed gender during arrest. There should be a disallowance for that kind of criminal conduct. It insults real trans women."

Controversy surrounding transgender prisoners in recent years

The treatment of transgender prisoners has become a contentious topic in recent years, with advocates arguing that trans women are at risk in male correctional facilities.

On the other hand, some feminists have expressed concerns that housing transgender individuals in female facilities poses a threat to women, particularly in cases involving sexual assault.

Tubbs' case highlights the complex and controversial issues surrounding transgender inmates. Despite Tubbs only identifying as transgender after her arrest, California law required her to be treated as a woman during her time in custody.

This decision has been a subject of debate, with some alleging that Tubbs used her transgender status to manipulate her housing situation.

Prosecutor Shea Sanna, who repeatedly raised concerns about Tubbs's treatment, accused the Los Angeles County justice system of disregarding the safety of potential victims.

Sanna pointed out that Tubbs had committed violent crimes against children and had referred to herself as a man until it became advantageous to identify as a woman while in custody.
