AUSTIN, TEXAS: A social media user has detailed an encounter with a man he believes may have been the Lady Bird Lake killer. Rumors that have surfaced suggest there is a serial killer on the loose in Austin, who is preying on men. An eighth body was pulled from a lake in the city in just ten months.

Police dismissed claims that the deaths were the work of a serial killer, and said that although each incident occurred at the lake, "the circumstances, exact locations, and demographics surrounding these cases vary," according to Daily Mail. Safety measures have been increased by the City of Austin around the trail near Rainey Street. A fence and lights have been set up, and there is an increased presence of law enforcement.

'I’m 95% positive that it was him, the killer'

In a Facebook post, a user named Hunter Adams wrote, "There’s a serial killer In Austin, Texas. Tuesday night, I met this guy at Buford’s on 6th street. He asked me for a ride home and used my phone twice. He had random scars and cuts on him like he been fighting people often. He mapped where I was gonna take him and it was right by LADYBIRD LAKE."

"Shortly after he asked us about the killer and if we knew anything. My dumba** told him yes to a ride home but realized that dude had been stocking me for hours and had follow me from 3 bars. He saw me talk to the bartender and immediately looked terrified. Then he tried to stay at my hip, knowing I was aware of something. Luckily I was able to avoid him and leave," he continued. "The next day I got a call from a number he had used my phone to call. When I answered, they asked for his whereabouts because he had been missing all night."

He added, "I’m 95% positive that it was him, the killer. It was a terrible evil vibe around him, there was NO WAY I ever intended to take him anywhere. Today, they recovered a body for the lake."

'This world is getting scary'

Concerned users commented on the post, with one saying, "Omg! This is crazy! I’m so glad you’re safe. This world is getting scary." "Got damn bro. Your phone was your saving grace cuz you would have been tracked the whole time. Seems like was nervous and folded up not keeping your phone the first time. But im glad he did fold up. Definitely wouldnt have wanted to see you on the news fam. No more giving strangers rides home," wrote another. "Jesús Christ. Have you contacted police?" one user asked.

"I’m glad you trusted your intuition. I’m pretty sure I’ve run into people who have done really bad things before, there’s always a certain energy about them. I talked my way out of a situation where I was being held hostage once by one of those people   but damn that’s crazy Hunter. I hope your cell phone number isn’t linked to your current address?" one user wrote, while another said, "I hope you called the police station to report this and to give them the numbers he called and maybe get finger prints off your phone from him. But I'm glad you're safe." "glad you’re okay man! so crazy how APD isn’t acknowledging that all these bodies found at lady bird are linked together," said one user.
