CORNELIUS, NORTH CAROLINA: A shocking new lead into the missing case of an 11-year-old girl is reportedly being probed by investigators. Madalina Cojocari had suddenly vanished after de-boarding her school bus in Cornelius, North Carolina, as per reports, back in November last year. But her mother, Diana Cojocari, filed a missing person’s report only in December.

Since then, the search for the little girl is an open and on-going investigation. Recently, a woman posted in a private Facebook group called "Find Madalina Cojocari" saying she saw a girl very similar to Madalina on July 5 near a Valero gas station in Weaverville, California. In the social media post, the user stated that the missing girl requested a lift "up north," and "appeared to be alone, but honestly, I could not tell clearly due to so many people there.”

Has Madalina Cojocari been found?

Referring to the Facebook share, the Cornelius Police Department’s spokesperson told WCNC Charlotte that it was “aware of the tip and detectives are following up.” Besides, Former FBI agent M Quentin Williams suggested, “We have social media and everybody is empowered. As long as you're on the platform, you are empowered to get the word out. So at the very least, everybody can blast it on the internet.”

He went on to continue, “All leads have to be followed because you never know which one is going to be the one that gets you there, either directly or indirectly. We have about 850,000 law enforcement officers in America but we have over 330 million people,” before adding, “The way we're going to solve crime is if those 330 million people are involved with the solutions to these cases.”

Meanwhile, a woman named Kristin Clement said, “I'm a parent and my daughter went to Madalina's school and my son played with friends in her neighborhood and it was just heartbreaking to see that she went missing. Everybody is just holding out hope that she can be found.”

‘Madalina was last seen wearing jeans’

FBI has issued photos as well as a description for Madalina so that she can be found. The government agency has said that she is a female weighing 90 pounds and her height is 4’10”. It also notes that the White child’s hair and eye color are brown.

FBI adds, “Her parents reported last seeing her on November 23, 2022. Madalina was last seen wearing jeans, pink, purple, and white Adidas shoes, and a white t-shirt and jacket. If you have any information concerning the whereabouts of Madalina Cojocari, please contact the Cornelius Police Department at (704) 892-7773. You may also contact your local FBI office, the nearest American Embassy or Consulate, or you can submit a tip online at tips.fbi.gov.”
