'Grey's Anatomy': Top 5 heartwarming Meredith Grey moments as Ellen Pompeo bids adieu to series after 19 seasons
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'Grey's Anatomy' has made every fan cry like there is no tomorrow at least once if not more when the creators killed one of the fans' favorite characters from the series. The series which started in 2005 is still here, however, the titular character, Meredith Grey whose life the series was following up until now will not be seen after the first episode when the series returns for the remaining part of Season 19. When the news of Ellen Pompeo quitting the show emerged, people had gone into sheer shock as they had seen Pompeo's Meredith Grey ever since the first episode of 2005. Fans also have their reservation about how the series will do after the main character leaves the show.
Regardless, as we know Pompeo's Meredith Grey was one of the OG surgical interns introduced in 2005, apart from her there were her peers- Cristina Yang (Sandra Oh), Izzie Stevens (Katherine Heigl), Alex Karev (Justin Chambers) and George O'Malley (T. 1) When Meredith met the love of her life
A med student, Meredith Grey who is about to start her surgical internship at one of the finest hospitals in Seattle unknowingly sleeps with her boss, Dr. Derek Shepherd, head of neurosurgery. Perplexed and mortified, Grey ignores Shepherd as much as she can.
2) 'You are the sun' - Cristina Yang
One friendship that stuck out and took every happy, sad, and ugly situation head-on was Cristina and Meredith's. Famously known as the "twisted sisters," they were each other's rock and person, as we know and Yang quoted- if she murdered someone would call each Meredith to help carry the cross across the living room. However, in Season 10 when Yang was bidding the hospital and her best friend goodbye, she needed a moment to "dance it out" and told Meredith, "Don't let what he wants, eclipse what you need. He's very dreamy, but he is not the sun. You are." It was indeed wholesome.
3) When Meredith proved 'friends are family we choose'
Sometimes people do things that are terrible and don't make sense to anybody else. When Alex comes to the hospital with an injured DeLuca and a bleeding fist, Meredith doesn't immediately go tell on him. Even though she realizes that it's wrong what he's done and that she needs to tell someone, she sticks around long enough to make sure that he is okay. When Alex tells her things from his perspective, Meredith makes him understand that they both have to say something. And even when she does tell Bailey, Meredith is immediately out there bailing Alex out of jail.
4) Meredith Grey won the Harper Avery
The special 300th episode of 'Grey's Anatomy' had just left us with all sorts of feelings. Meredith ends up staying behind at Grey Sloan instead of going to the Harper Avery ceremony. When the staff finds out that she won over Skype, everyone is overcome with joy. It was crazy and heartwarming to see the family of friends that Meredith has made over the last 14 seasons.

Meredith Grey exits in “I’ll Follow the Sun” by bidding buh-bye to Seattle’s Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital that’ll always be her home, tears will roll nationwide that is for sure. She’s off to Boston, a job with less stress, and more quality time with her kids.
