'Grey’s Anatomy' Season 16: Will Meredith Grey get to spend Halloween with her kids or will she stay in jail?

In the promo for the next episode of 'Grey's Anatomy', Meredith Grey tells the jail guards that she wants to get her kids ready for Halloween

Fired and now in jail. It's not going to be easy to watch Meredith Grey spending her time behind bars. For the unversed, the distinguished surgeon skipped on her legal obligations as she was with her daughter Zola during emergency surgery.

Her boyfriend Andrew DeLuca did try to tell her to go to court, but she pretty much told him to back off.  There’s always a good reason for why Meredith does things, but the law obviously doesn’t get emotion.

So, Meredith has to make up for her hours of community service in jail. In the latest promo, we can see Meredith being spooked by a new inmate.

Later, a harrowed Meredith tries telling the guard that she wants to be with her kids and get them ready for Halloween. Of course, he has a snarky response for that.

'Grey's Anatomy' is known for its unpredictable twists, (well occasionally) and its tradition of making fans cry with heartbreaking scenes.  So the question is, will Meredith Grey get to spend Halloween with her kids, or will she wait it out?

As legal loopholes the size of craters can be solved pretty quickly, it's much to be hoped for that Meredith gets to spend Halloween with her kids.

If that's too far-fetched, she should at least get to see them. Hopefully, Alex brings them to jail so she can see them in their Halloween outfits. We live in a state of constant optimism, even after 16 years of seeing Meredith punished on 'Grey's Anatomy'.

Meredith's legal battles have been the strong storyline for season 16, as she committed insurance fraud in season 15, leading her to get fired by an irate Miranda Bailey, along with Alex and Richard Webber.

Bailey is less than pleased with her, as Meredith wrote an article on healthcare in the US, which an outlet published with a misleading headline, besmirching the reputation of Grey-Sloane hospital further.

You would think bomb blasts and gunmen would stop getting people going to Grey-Sloane, but apparently, it's a listicle by Meredith Grey.

So will Meredith spend Halloween with her kids? Only the next episode on ABC airing on October 31 will tell us.
