'Grey's Anatomy' Season 16 Episode 7: Fans are convinced Meredith Grey needs to be with McWidow instead of DeLuca
The fall finale of 'Grey's Anatomy' Season 16 came with a set of twists and turns. Titled 'Let’s All Go to the Bar,' the hour-long drama, ushered a stiff competition for DeLuca, hinting at another love triangle for Meredith! Cormac Hayes (Richard Flood), the newly-appointed chief of pediatric surgery seems to have taken the center stage in Meredith's world.
It is surprising how quickly fans moved on to McWidow from DeLuca. "I don’t care what anyone says. I never liked Meredith with Deluca and she needs to be with Mr. McWidow," one fan wrote and another tweeted, "YES! She needs someone idk GROWN, I know Mer was also an intern/resident when she fell for Derek but I just feel like she has been through so much to be with such a child."
Viewers are also surprised at how Cristina Yang sent a man in her package. I’m still shook Cristina sent Nerefith a whole man. But we gotta find a name better than McWidow," one tweet read and another said, "Ok, Cristina calls him McWidow, I'll call him McJackass for the moment. BUT, I definitely prefer Meredith with him rather than whiny Andrew." Another Twitter user posted, "I like McWidow WAYYYY more than Deluca, hopefully, Deluca was in that car."
One fan noted how "elevator encounters" lead Meredith to her new love interests. "These first elevator encounters of Mer always lead to something. Derek. Nathan. And now McWidow. Which is surprisingly a gift from Cristina." one tweet reads. Another viewer is already shipping McWidow and Mer! "McWidow! I already love him and I'm totally shipping them, I was never a fan of MerLuca tbh. #GreysAnatomy." One fan posted: "DeLuca has been sweet and fun, but with McWidow, I feel fiyah?! Too soon to tell, though."
Talking about how Cristina's predictions for Mer have always been right, one fan even went on to say, "Remember when Cristina called Derek McDreamy and they were like endgame, and now she just gave Mer a gift and called him McWidow."
Only after 'Grey's Anatomy' returns after its long winter break will the viewers find out whether or not McWidow is the ideal man for Meredith Grey. A two-hour 'Station 19' crossover drama, episode 10 airs on Thursday, January 23, on ABC at 7\8c.
