Hallmark's charming comedy-drama 'Good Witch' just aired its latest and sixth season and it was quite a successful one. The Season 6 premiere had 3.4M viewers and became the second most-watched cable program among women over 18 years of age. After raking such viewership and fanfare, it is quite likely for the network to return with an all new seventh season. So, whenever the series comes back, here’s what it will have in store for you.

Release date

There is no information on the release date of ‘Good Witch’ Season 7. Watch this space for more information and updates on when the all-new season of Hallmark’s hit comedy-drama is coming back.

Plot

'Good Witch' is a family comedy with a touch of supernatural. The plot has been following the journey and magical adventures of the mother-daughter duo, Cassie Nightingale and Grace. They are witches, but good ones. In fact, extremely charming and fun. They are both well-meaning and always do the right thing for those they love. And then Cassie encounters a man — a very normal, mortal human — who moves in next door and takes the witch family on a whole new ride. Eventually, Cassie and Sam get married and they start having their own little adventures.

Season 6 started with Cassie and Sam’s first wedding anniversary and explored their marital relationship. The storylines in the sixth season were more about learning each other. The season also introduced a new character — Joy Harper, a newcomer in the town and in Cassie and Sam’s life. So far, the focus of the series was on the mother-daughter relationship of Cassie and Grace and how they lived the lives of witches but Season 6 onward we see a big shift in the plotlines with more emphasis on Sam and Cassie’s dynamics. So, it's most logical that the seventh season will also continue the trend and probably include more new characters and their respective stories.

Cast

Catherine Bell, James Denton and Catherine Disher in Good Witch Season 6 (IMDb)

'Good Witch' features Catherine Bell and James Denton in the leading roles. And looking at the emphasis on these two characters in Season 6, we can only guess that they would be back for the seventh season as well. Catherine Bell plays the widowed (and now married) Cassie Nightingale, the enchantress. James Denton plays the role of Dr Sam Radford, Cassie’s neighbor, town doctor and now husband. Bailee Madison, who plays the role of Grace Russell, Cassie’s daughter, had only a brief appearance in Season 6. So chances are that she might not return for Season 7. But guess we wouldn’t know unless there is an official announcement. Other cast members include Rhys Matthew Bond, Sarah Power and Catherine Disher. And as mentioned above, Katherine Barrell could also be there in Season 7 as Joy Harper.

Showrunner

The supernatural comedy series is created by Sue Tenney and Craig Pryce for Hallmark Channel.
