Good Trouble Season 2: Cast teases a deeper dive 'into every person at The Coterie'

In an exclusive with MEAWW, the cast of the Freeform show gave us a glimpse of all the things to be expected from the upcoming season
UPDATED JUN 4, 2019

Freeform's hit drama 'Good Trouble' is about to return with its second season, and while our anticipation for life at The Coterie builds up, the cast members decided to add a little spice to the mix. How? Simply by cautiously teasing certain epic spoilers for the upcoming season!

The Maia Mitchell and Cierra Ramirez starrer spin-off of 'The Fosters' was greenlit for a second season earlier in February this year, but the wait for it following the debut season's finale won't be much longer.

Speaking about the fast developments, Emma Hunton, who plays the not-so-pleasant Davia on the show, told us she had no clue how fast everything happened. "I'm new in the Tv world so I'm figuring it all out as I go, so I  had no idea it was gonna be this quick," the actress shared exclusively with MEA WorldWide, as we caught up with the cast of the show at the Kiis FM iHeartRadio's Wango Tango pink carpet.

Maia Mitchell and Cierra Ramirez attend the premiere of Freeform's "Good Trouble" at Palace Theatre on January 08, 2019 in Los Angeles, California.

Joining Hunton were her co-stars Sherry Cola, Tommy Martinez, Josh Pence, and Zuri Adele. Cola, who plays the first generation Asian American lesbian on the show, also addressed the fast arrival of the second season, saying: "It's such a blessing that it was so quick and we get to keep telling these stories ASAP so we're just excited for people to see it."

Martinez, who plays handsome hunk Gael and the possible love interest of Mitchell's character, Callie, added, "We got word that I think it was when we were shooting our last episode that somebody said that we were gonna be back in March or something and we were like so soon, plus we've seen and done in paper I don't believe it. But yeah when we found out at the TCA it was incredible!"

Spoiler alert but if you are a major Dennis fan, there's good news for you! He is still very much here, and Josh Pence at the pink carpet assured us of the same. "If you don't know yet, then you should know. Yeah, I'm still here," he spilled.

But what else is cooking with the upcoming season? A lot, in terms of Dennis and Davia's character at least. "We're more comfortable with each other," Hunton told us. "Josh and I were fortunate enough to get bumped up to series regulars this season, so I feel like we feel a little bit safer and able to explore a little bit more because when you're on a show you don't know if you're gonna be written off the next episode. so they've been really really kind to us and given us some great storylines, so we're really excited," she added.

Cola would like to assure fans that "what you're gonna be excited to see in season 2 is that it dives into every person at The Coterie a little deeper."

And Hunton continued saying, "We met everybody in the first season and the second season is getting to know why they are the way they are. So if you guys didn't like someone you're gonna find out why."

But the biggest highlight will have to be once again Gale's fine six packs that he loved to flaunt around, so those fans thirsting for some more shirtless scenes courtesy Martinez, he would like you to know that "throughout the hiatus, I was so done with being shirtless, I was eating whatever the hell I wanted and then we got back to shooting so soon I was like - oh god!"

'Good Trouble' returns with season 2 on Tuesday, June 18 at 8/7c only on Freeform.
