BEVERLY HILLS, CALIFORNIA: 'Oppenheimer' won the award in the Best Picture-Drama category at the 81st Golden Globe Awards held at Beverly Hilton on Sunday, January 8 and the star-studded night witnessed a massive victory of 'Oppenheimer' with not just one but multiple awards.

Cillian Murphy won Best Male Actor in Motion Picture Drama and Robert Downey Jr bagged Best Male Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture for his role in 'Oppenheimer'.

On the other hand, filmmaker Christopher Nolan won his first Golden Globe for Best Director of a Motion Picture for 'Oppenheimer'.

Fans on the Internet are celebrating 'Oppenheimer's big win at the Golden Globes 2024.

Calling it a 'satisfying' victory, an Internet user exclaimed, "Now this is so satisfying...I was gonna be real upset if Cillian didn't grab this one....most deserving actor...hats off."



 

Christopher Nolan's long-awaited triumph at the prestigious award function has thrilled his fans globally.

A fan wrote on X, "Congratulations to Christopher Nolan for a long overdue acknowledgement as one of history's greatest directors". At the same time, someone else tweeted, "Christopher Nolan finally won his first Golden Globe for Best Director of a Motion Picture for Oppenheimer. One of my favorite all time directors. So amazing to see the evolution of his work."



 



 

With some mixed feelings about Cillian Murphy's bagging Best Actor Male award, a fan expressed "Very happy that Cillian Murphy won but also wanted Barry Keoghan to win so he could dance up to the podium to Murder on the Dance Floor."



 

"Richly deserved. He was superb!!" said another Internet user about Cillian Murphy's win.



 

What were the other nominations for Best Motion Picture Drama?

Along with 'Oppenheimer', the other nominations for Best Motion Picture Drama included 'Killers of the Flower Moon', 'Maestro', 'Past Lives', 'The Zone of Interest', and 'Anatomy of a Fall'.

In the Best Actor Male (Drama) category, the nominations included Bradley Cooper for 'Maestro', Leonardo DiCaprio for 'Killers of the Flower Moon', Colman Domingo for 'Rustin', Andrew Scott for 'All of Us Strangers', Barry Keoghan for 'Saltburn' and Cillian Murphy for 'Oppenheimer'.
