'Giri/Haji' is a thrilling story of how one murder creates waves across the world affecting two major cities, London and Tokyo. Directed by Julian Farino, 'Giri/Haji' is a tale filled with violence and intrigue. As the language shifts in between Japanese and English, we follow a Japanese detective as he sets on a journey to find his brother who is presumed dead, eventually introducing him to the dangerous elements of London's corrupt criminal underworld.

Plot
According to the official synopsis of the show, "Bound by duty and lost in shame, a Tokyo detective travels to London to look for his long lost younger brother, now believed to be posing as a Yakuza gangster and wanted for the murder of a Japanese businessman. His family’s honor, and the fragile peace between the warring gangs back home, is at stake."

Takehiro Hira as Kenzo Mori
As Kenzo Mori, Takehiro Hira plays the role of a Japanese detective who travels to London in order to search for his brother. The Japanese theatre, film and television actor is known for his work on 'The Eternal Zero', 'The Floating Castle', 'Sekigahara', 'Atsuhime' and 'Cho no Sanmyaku', among others.
Kelly Macdonald as Sarah Weitzmann
As Sarah Weitzmann, Kelly plays the role of a detective constable alienated within the Metropolitan Police. The actress is best known for her work in 'Trainspotting', 'Gosford Park', 'Boardwalk Empire' as Margaret Thompson, a role for which she received an Emmy Award nomination, 'Brave', 'Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows: Part 2' and the 'Black Mirror' episode 'Hated in the Nation'. For her performance in 'No Country for Old Men', she was nominated for the BAFTA Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role.
Yōsuke Kubozuka as Yuto Mori
Yōsuke plays the role of Yuto Mori Kenzo's younger brother and a member of the Yakuza, who had been presumed dead by his brother Kenzo before he came to London. It is then revealed that he might be guilty of killing the nephew of a Yakuza member. The Japanese actor and musician is best known for his work on 'Tokyo Tribe', 'Helter Skelter', 'Silence', 'The Extreme Sukiyaki' and 'Strawberry on the Shortcake' among others.

'Giri/ Haji' is directed by Julian Farino, who is best known for his adaptation of Charles Dickens' 'Our Mutual Friend', which won four BAFTAs, including Best Drama. He is also known for 'Byron', a biopic of romantic poet George Gordon Byron that starred Jonny Lee Miller and Vanessa Redgrave.
