ORLAND PARK,  ILLINOIS: Connor N Smith is 'wanted' by the authorities. The 32-year-old former MTV reality television star was discovered trying to meet a girl under 15 for sex in Illinois, prompting a nationwide search for him. A $1 million warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Authorities say that after Smith escaped from detectives working on a sex-predator sting operation earlier this month. Since this news emerged, the Internet burst into flames as the netizens showed outrage toward him and flooded social media with several jarring comments.

The Lake County Sheriff's Office issued a news release stating that the investigation into Smith had started a few weeks prior. Smith communicated online for weeks with an undercover detective who pretended to be a young girl, according to investigators. Smith allegedly sent the undercover detective explicit photos and videos of himself during the conversations. Detectives moved in to capture Smith when he arrived, but the man was able to flee and get into his car, as reported by Law & Crime.

Previous charges against Smith

Earlier, Smith was detained in Illinois after being accused of raping a 16-year-old girl in Indiana. Smith, who is best known for his appearance on MTV's 'Are You the One?', was accused of rape, sexual battery, and two counts of criminal confinement, according to the local authorities.

The unnamed teen was also brutally assaulted by the actor, according to the documents, the publication was able to obtain. The teen was abducted in July 2021 while leaving her room to visit her relatives in Indiana, as reported by MEAWW. A spokesperson for the Cook County Sheriff's Office revealed details about Smith's case, revealing that the actor was detained on December 16 in Oak Lawn, Ill, on a warrant from Lake County, Indiana, according to reports.
