BROOKLYN, NEW YORK: Frank James, who recently pleaded guilty to federal charges in the shooting aboard a subway train in Brooklyn on April 12, last year, has been spotted in a post-arrest interview and phone-camera footage, released by a federal judge. In the footage, the person identified only as ‘Victim-1’ can be heard telling a wounded train passenger crying out in pain to ‘stay low.’ He then helps out wounded passengers off the train and onto the platform. In the platform, ‘Victim-1’ records the fear and chaos at the scene.

“The video shows multiple people on the subway platform bleeding and crying out for help,” describing the footage, the prosecutor states. “A subway worker then starts yelling for the passengers to board the R train across the platform and asks: ‘did anyone see what happened?'” The victim who was recording the incident responded “yes,” and describes the scene of the attack, including witnessing an “explosion bomb” with “black smoke” and “popping sound” from the other end of the train next to a construction worker “with orange clothes on.”

The man in the orange clothes was then found to be Frank Robert James, who had been arrested and pleaded guilty on counts of 11 federal charges. As per officials, the first 10 were terrorism counts for each of the victims injured, via his 9mm semi-automatic handgun in April 2022. Miraculously, there were no fatalities, in the incident in which James set off two smoke grenades on the second car of the Manhattan-bound subway train in Brooklyn. Though the shooter was reluctant about wiping a long trail of evidence behind him, he tried to tamper with the serial number on his Glock, which he bought under his full legal name, according to Law&Crime.

The victim captured the first video amid the 8.26 am attack. As per the victim, James, “had a black rolling suitcase and a white bag with him — and then, a minute or two later dropped a canister and appeared to yell “Oh, shit,” as told to New York City Police Officer about the scene and describing culprit. The 63-year-old convict will likely avoid life, which would have been 31 to 37 years in prison after confessing to his crimes. However, the federal prosecutors will go for an above guidelines sentence in the hearings preceded by US District Judge William Kuntz.
