ORLANDO, FLORIDA: A Florida man, who allegedly stole a container full of beef worth $200,000, was arrested by Miami-Dade police on Tuesday, September 12, after a chase that involved a frequency jammer and a crash with a police truck.

The suspect, Lazaro Izquierdo Crespo, 39, of Hialeah, was also wanted for another cargo theft and an assault on two detectives in July, as per reports.

How was the container tracked?

According to the arrest reports, police tracked down the stolen chassis and container using GPS technology to a facility at 17425 SW 172nd St, around noon.

They saw Izquierdo unloading the beef into a 52-foot trailer and then getting into a Ram 2500 pickup truck.

When he noticed the officers, he tried to escape by driving away, Local 10 reported.

The reports state that Izquierdo crashed into a Miami-Dade police pickup truck during his attempt to flee.

He also used a frequency jammer which made it difficult for the officers to communicate over the radio.

How was Lazaro Izquierdo arrested after he fled with $200K worth of beef?

Lazaro later lost control of his truck on Southwest 152nd Street, near 167th Avenue, and came to a stop.

He then threw a black leather bag and some belongings into a dirt field. The bag contained suspected methamphetamines, according to the police, the report mentioned.

The officers arrested Izquierdo and searched his truck. They found out that he was also involved in a previous incident that happened on July 20 at a truck yard at 15545 NW 122nd Ave.
