Florida man arrested for wielding firearm, beating bar owner with belt over being kicked out on July 23
PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: A 37-year-old Florida man, named Fabio Llano Sanchez, was reportedly kicked out of Girafa’s Sports Bar on Forest Hill Boulevard in West Palm Beach on July 23 for allegedly being too intoxicated. However, he reportedly returned to the venue wielding a firearm and allegedly struck 45-year-old bar owner Aabhash Pradhan with a belt before being arrested by Palm Beach Sheriff's Office (PBSO) deputies the same day, CBS 12 reported.
Officers reportedly arrived at the location around 2:00 am on July 23 and detained Sanchez after Pradhan identified the Florida man as the suspect. The bar owner claimed that Sanchez was extremely drunk and began harassing other customers before he was asked to leave the venue. The Florida man eventually left only to return with a firearm and threatening to shoot the security as well as the owner of the bar.
Who is Fabio Llano Sanchez?
Sanchez is a 37-year-old Florida man who was recently arrested for beating the owner of Girafa’s Sports Bar with a belt and wielding a firearm after being kicked out of the bar for allegedly harrassing other customers in a heavily intoxicated state. Pradhan told PBSO officers that the Florida man left with his car and returned with a firearm before directly pointing his weapon towards the owner and saying, "I will shoot you."
Pradhan claimed that Sanchez even threatened to shoot the security officers of the bar. Shortly after, the Florida man allegedly took off his belt and swung at Pradhan and continued to hit him multiple times. A security guard reportedly started fighting with Sanchez while Pradhan called 911 to seek help from officials. The security guard, named Luis Larossa Chavez, told deputies that Sanchez said he would "kill him" right after being asked to leave the bar for being too drunk.
According to the arrest affidavit, Pradhan only suffered an injury on his finger from Sanchez's belt while Chavez remained unharmed after the ordeal. Officials managed to detain the Florida man while the latter attempted to leave Girafa's Sports Bar after the arrival of the deputies.
What are the charges against Fabio Llano Sanchez?
According to CBS 12, Sanchez was charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a firearm, two counts of aggravated battery with belt and battery after being arrested on July 23. However, the Florida man was eventually released with a $60,000 bond. The arrest affidavit filed by Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office and obtained by Boca Raton News Now read, "On 7/23/23 at approximately 0206, I responded to 5906 Forest Hill Blvd, West Palm Beach, FL 33415, in reference to an armed disturbance. It was said that there was an individual with a gun."
It continued, "Upon my arrival, responding deputies put over the radio that the victim pointed out the suspect, later identified as Fabio Llano Sanchez in a black Toyota bearing tag C12WV. I, D/S Harvey 34092 and D/S Martinez 37526 made contact with Sanchez as he was attempting to leave the area. Deputies detained Sanchez on scene and the victim walked over where Sanchez was with deputies and positively identified him as the suspect." The statement further added, "I made contact with the owner of the bar. The owner stated Sanchez was told he had to leave the bar due to being too drunk and harassing customers. The owner stated Sanchez then went to his vehicle and came out with his hand in his back."
