ROSEWOOD, FLORIDA: In a harrowing incident that has left a community in shock, a woman suffered unspeakable torture at the hands of a Florida man known to her. Marshall Dimick, 55, of Rosewood, was arrested after being accused of subjecting the victim to a brutal and terrifying ordeal.

According to reports, the unidentified woman recounted her tormenting experience to the police, detailing the brutal attack that unfolded after an "argument" with the felon on Thursday, July 27. Community left shaken by heinous crime

The Florida man allegedly “dunked her head into a vat of tar-like substance that is used to treat clam and oyster bags.” He also “pointed a shotgun at her and choked her to near unconsciousness," reported the Levy County Sheriff's Office.

The unidentified woman was rushed to the hospital, where she received treatment for chemical burns on her face and arms, as reported by WCJB. The incident left the community shaken and the victim traumatized, as she bravely recounted the horrific events she endured. Authorities categorized the magnitude of the offense as a "domestic dispute."

The police swiftly responded to the distressing situation, with Marshall Dimick reportedly attempting to evade justice by removing "several firearms" from his home before their arrival. The officers managed to locate the guns on a neighboring property, and Dimick was taken into custody, the sheriff’s office said.

Marshall Dimick faces serious charges, including aggravated battery, aggravated assault with a firearm, and four counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Currently held at the Levy County Detention Center, Dimick faces a daunting bail amount of $550,000, reflecting the seriousness of the charges against him.
